go away. Your facts are beyond weak and you disappear after they get called out only to reappear later and make more dumb posts. just go away.
lol @ UT-Austin branch irrelevant yet another year in a row the biggest beneficiary of Mack's incompetence: "Berlin on the Brazos" and their coach Sumlin
UT missed the boat with Muschamp, but if Texas wants a great coach, they can find one. They have more money than God, one of the most attractive college towns in the nation and great tradition. Mack has peaked and is not even recruiting particularly well any more. Kick him upstairs.
I think it's already turned and there might be no turning back under Mack. The misses in recruiting are getting bigger and bigger. They need a new perspective. If Mack really wants to preserve his legacy at UT, he needs to step down and move into the front office. All he's doing now is pulling apart what he had built, piece by piece.
Not denying that Mack's time is done or not, but this recruiting class is not bad at all. It was always going to be a small class, and has a very high quality aspect, especially if it holds together as currently constructed. Several excellent offensive linemen. http://rivals.yahoo.com/texas/football/recruiting/teamrank/2013/all/all Sort by average # stars, and you can see that we are ranked #4. I think we will have more competition in recruiting going forward, but the current commitments definitely do not indicate that the sky is falling.
Mack has had top 5 classes for the last few years and that doesn't seem to have translated to the field.
A very rare occasion in a UT thread, you might actually be correct. They were so certain he was going to be the next great one that they didn't think much of what was behind him.
two things: 1) You have to develop these players once they get to campus. If you do not, they will perform like 2 star players. 2) You have to look at these rankings relative to what OU, Ok St, TCU, etc are pulling in. It's not much of a difference. And those programs develop players. Nevermind what Alabama, Oregon, etc are doing....they're distancing themselves from the horns, that's for sure. so basically you're F'd
at least big tex knows the teams in the texas region. sactown is only serious if he's trying to educate nba fans that lebron is a good player.
I always wonder why I respond to your posts and do it anyway. Pretty harmless, I guess. I spoke to recruiting alone. It's clear that player evaluation/development has been lacking. If you wanted to point to that and say that Texas is on the decline, that makes sense. Pointing to recruiting when the current committed class is chock full of four star players does not make sense. Should be another interesting offseason. Mack seemed pretty dejected in his press conference today. Still think he sticks it out for at least one more season, but don't really see the energy that he used to have, even after blowout losses. Don't see how some coaching changes aren't made this offseason.
coming in at number 11 isn't nearly as good as prior years.... ...and coupled with UT-Austin branch's piss poor player development means grabbing ankles while Stoops thrusts for many more years
