Makes me sick to see this. Brutal, I couldn't imagine this. Rest in peace Sasha and I hope McHale takes as much time off as needed to properly grieve.
Here is a link for anyone who wishes to make a donation to the Lupus Foundation of America. http://donate.lupus.org/ Not only because it's a worthy cause, but because we, as die-hard members of RocketsNation, support the organization through good times and bad. Regardless of our game-to-game criticisms, at the end of the day, we support our team- its players, its coaches, its owner- and its fans- because that's just what you do.
I'll be honest. I wanted McHale to be fired (for basketball reasons), but now I want him to stay because there's no one I'd like to cheer for more than him. Sucks to know that this happened. Sasha seemed like a very nice person who passed way too soon.
Absolutely Heartbreaking news. Thoughts and Prayers are with the Mchale family. I couldn't even imagine.... Come back when your ready Coach. Red Nation loves ya
I always look at it like it's 85% the team and 15% the coaching. That 15%, of course, can make the difference in critical games (or barely missing the playoffs, etc.), but ultimately you have to have the quality players who have had time to gel. Look at the Thunder. Great players and teams in the early stages will probably go through a lot of losses, but eventually will rise to the level of their ability. McHale is not the problem, nor was Adelman or Van Gundy or Rudy T. (or Kelvin Sampson). He's a good coach for our team like Brooks is for the Thunder or Spoelstra for the Heat. We as Rockets fans are always going to be hyper-critical of our coaches- and players.
Terrible news. No parent should live to see their child die. That has to be the worst thing possible for a parent to have to endure. My heartfelt condolences to the McHale family.
Condolences out to her family and friends. Hope Sasha lived a fulfilled life. One day everyone will be back together on the other side!
When one of us has to deal with the loss of a loved one, we can go to work & still come home to family. In that case the hours at work can become a respit from the tragic loss & we can can be consoled by family at home. If Kevin's wife & other daughter are in Minnesota, he'd have to be away from the family to finish the season. I don't expect him to be back til after the Holidays at the earliest. My prayers are definately with the McHale family!!
