I have a son and a daughter...I can't imagine what this man is going through right now RIP Sasha and condolence to McHale and his family
Man, my condolences to the McHale's family. Wish him the best and I'm sure Les will give him all the time he needs.
My condolences to Coach McHale and his family. Such terrible news at this time of the year, so sad. I hope when he comes back to coaching the Rockets, we'll clap louder when his name is announced at intro.
Just posted on Rockets FB. Then came here to check. Truly sad news. Can't imagine how the McHales feel right now. The hardest thing for parents is to lose a child. Will pray for the whole family. "It is well with my soul."
What a depressing way to start the day. I was sitting down to have my morning Americano, and this hit me like a sucker punch to the gut. I assumed McHale had left to deal with an elderly family member, which is hard in its own right, but there is no greater curse than to lose a child. I'm glad he was able to be with Sasha over these past few days, and I'm also impressed and not surprised that the Rockets are giving him all the time he needs to be with his family. Just hugged my 4 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I can't even fathom losing them. The entire McHale family are definitely in my thoughts.
Don't lash out on Spiegel. I think what he means is that the team will want to do their best and play their hardest for Coach McHale, knowing what he has gone through and lost, to somehow make things up for the Coach in their own ways. Not that playing well would change what happened.
I know right?? Some people are looking to lash out negative feedback just to lash out, you know who you are...
I would hope that people have enough character not to lash out on this thread. It is and should be a fan wake. A time for sorrow. A family has lost a beloved child. Is McHale coming back as head coach? Not a relevant question right now.
I feel for him. Parents never get over the death of a child. He will be mourning for a very long time. McHale and his family are in my thoughts.
Horrible, she was my age. Condolences to the Mchale family, stay strong coach... You'll be in my prayers.
It's 5:30am Down Under and I've had trouble sleeping because of the news. It takes a lot to bring tears to my eyes, but I was sitting with my daughter ( who is battling illness herself) yesterday when the news broke, and it was like a kick in the guts. I know what it's like to be looking after a sick daughter, and can only imagine the pain of losing your child. My heart is still aching for the McHale family.
