I'm feeling the same way with Graham that I did with Kris Brown and Niel Rackets. Texans shouldhhave drafted the legatron and not Bullock. I cry when I see him nail 55 yard field goals down the middle. Anything over 45 is iffy for the Texans. That's bad.
I don't think Graham is a bad kicker. He hasn't missed from inside 40yds. He's made 6 of 8 from 40-50. He's 1 of 4 from 50+. Graham has made 20 of 25 overall. Opposing teams kickers have made 16 of 19 overall. Graham is an average kicker that has struggled on the long kicks. It's not unusual for kickers to struggle from beyond 50 yards. If you want to replace Graham, what kicker is available right now that is better?
i dont believe that for one moment, just another IR stash for kubiak so he doesnt get picked up from the PS.. graham was brought in for kicker competition, a flukish string of distance makes and he made the team. bullock missed 1 kick and never had the chance to redeem himself. the system kubiak used was flawed.. he should have had them rotate by distance and not by every other kick.. graham is shook, he doesnt have any confidence and thats why he is pressing, just like kris brown. thats why he almost shanked the game winner today.. over compensationg for mind issues and hes pulling kicks farther than he should.. its like when baseball players cant throw the ball to first base..
Not true at all. Bullock's miss was from 51. That wasn't a big deal. I can promise you the Texans had the rotation simply to show Bullock the ropes, so to speak, and to show the team that all jobs were open to competition. They fully intended for Bullock to win the job until he was too injured to kick with any depth. It was and is a very real injury.
Not talking about the line drives/squibs. Sometimes even on regular kickoffs it comes up short. Its not all the time, but it certainly happens more often than not.
How long? I guess longer than 11 games. Graham still hasn't cost the Texans a game. In fact he hit a game-winner today.
It is almost every kickoff. He rarely puts one more than a yard into the end zone.Good thing the D has played as well as it has,it really hasn't had a huge effect. He definitely needs to be replaced after the season, but we are stuck with him until then.
Graham sucks and seriously needs to be cut or else he will cost us a game in the playoffs! Please cut this scrub!
Last year it was Jacoby Jones for the special teams... The Texans special team scares me every time they get on the field. They have been scaring me ever since Kris brown days. This needs to change. I'm hoping Graham will eventually get better. Even our defense has been sluggish lately. The team needs to play their best when they play Patriots cause the Pats are on a tear lately.
This are the stats of 4 kickers (Shayne Graham (HOU), David Akers (SF), Jason Hanson (DET), Stephen Gostkowski(NE)) which one do you think belongs to each kicker? And without looking the names below, which one do you think is the best stat? (the one with more kicks from 50 yds, but missed more kicks under 40 yds? the one with most kicks in the 40-49 yds, or the one with less misses in the 40-49 yds range, but less attempts?) 30-39 yds: 7-7 40-49 yds: 6-10 50+ yds : 1-3 30-39 yds: 7-9 40- 49 yds: 6-9 50+ yards: 2-2 30-39 yds: 5-5 40-49 yds: 12-15 50+ yds: 1-1 30-39 yds: 6-6 40-49 yds:6-8 50+ yds: 1-4 answer: Spoiler 1. akers 2. Gostkowski 3. hanson 4. Graham
thanks. i didn't think shayne was that bad and never understood why people kept calling for his head. even without looking at these stats, just watching the games you can tell shayne is really consistent inside the 50. i guess texans fans think every team's kicker should be able to kick 50 yard field goals with ease. i do get the frustration with us not getting very many touchbacks on kickoffs, but i don't think that's completely shayne's fault. we had hartmann doing kickoffs when rackers was our fg specialist - our kickoffs just look bad because both our punter and our fg kicker can't consistently kick it out the back of the endzone.
He is on injured reserve. I seem to remember that neither Bullock or Graham were getting their kickoffs into the end zone during the pre-season.
