With Royce's combination of symptoms its pretty clear he is not going to be able to have an NBA career. On top of that, he does nothing but badmouth the organization.

I don't understand why the Rockets are even trying to work this out at this point.

I just went through his ~30 tweets directed at Woj...

I know the guy is mentally ill (obviously), but this is getting to the point where I dont even want to hear about it anymore. The Rockets really need to find a way to get rid of him. I dont care if he has potential or whatever, he's never going to realize that potential.

This guy is a complete douche.

Generalized anxiety disorder (or GAD) is characterized by excessive, exaggerated anxiety and worry about everyday life events with no obvious reasons for worry. People with symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder tend to always expect disaster and can't stop worrying about health, money, family, work, or school. In people with GAD, the worry is often unrealistic or out of proportion for the situation. Daily life becomes a constant state of worry, fear, and dread. Eventually, the anxiety so dominates the person's thinking that it interferes with daily functioning, including work, school, social activities, and relationships.

What Are the Symptoms of GAD?
GAD affects the way a person thinks, but the anxiety can lead to physical symptoms, as well. Symptoms of GAD can include:

    Excessive, ongoing worry and tension
    An unrealistic view of problems
Restlessness or a feeling of being "edgy"
    Irritability
    Muscle tension
    Headaches
    Sweating
    Difficulty concentrating
    Nausea
The need to go to the bathroom frequently
    Tiredness
    Trouble falling or staying asleep
    Trembling
    Being easily startled

He obviously has GAD. He does need help. He should not have twitter access. He is burying himself. I don't think he can treat it enough to be able to make it in the public eye of the NBA.

I don't want to cut him, but all I keep thinking is, "Make it stop... MAKE. IT. STOP."

He's tweeting during the Rockets games as if we want to hear this then. He's saying he can't watch the game. He's posting unauthorized links to watch the game. He's constantly attacking the Rockets, the team that is paying him to sit on his ass.

I just find his behavior embarrassing. I can't believe a player who I thought was so intelligent could be this dense.

I don't see how there is going to be a real future for him in the NBA. You can't even get the guy to go to training camp. He won't go to the D-League. How is he ever going to consistently improve and develop? And if by some miracle he does, can you EVER rely on him for a big game?

The dude is a scam artist. He is just trying to get as much money as he can without doing anything. He put on twitter that you can't fire people with mental illness. What does that say to you?

I think this is a HUGE point...who's to say he shows up for the big game? He could easily have a breakdown and not show up. That's scary to think about...imagining the Rockets in a game 7 playoff series, only to turn on the TV and hear reports that White hasnt shown up to the game. Ouch.

Morey should get fired over this. Not only has he got player who probably won't play, but a huge legal liability.

    IGNORANCE.

Man, I hate those people in wheel chairs--WHY DON'T THEY JUST WALK ALREADY!!!

People thinking he is trying to scam the Rockets? Like he finally achieves his lifetime goal of making the NBA and playing the game he loves, then suddenly decides to wreck it ON PURPOSE???

I feel sorry for the guy and hope he gets the help he needs to remove whatever barriers that are blocking his opportunity to make a living doing what he loves. This is his occupation.

Do you think Iowa State University was more accommodating to Royce's needs? Seems to me that now that he has a contract and a bigger platform, he's trying to get something handed to him as well. If it's just about playing basketball, he was doing that in college...but now that he's in the pros, he's suddenly unable to do the same thing?

People in wheelchairs will never be able to walk, not even a little bit. That's a horrible comparison to make. A better comparison is a person who is overly obese due to several different factors, like depression, hormones, etc...

I think this myth has been debunked now. Some Rockets journalist (Friedman, I think?) said that Royce's agent's info was false and that a lot more people other than McHale was high on him. He also said that Dallas wouldve taken him had we chosen another player.

He downplayed his condition leading up to the draft, got the guaranteed millions by going in the first round and now he's using that leverage to force the team who took a chance on him to bend to his every whim.

I thnk there was calculation by White and his handlers to repair his reputation once his draft stock began to slip. If he went in the second round, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on with this behavior.

So yes, in a way, he swindled the Rockets. He's not even TRYING to make this work.

    Eff him!
