I hope Morey doesn't consider Parsons an asset. With today's game becoming more perimeter-oriented each day, having a potentially star-level all-around player at BOTH perimeter positions (with Harden) is crucial. It's very rare you find a 2-way player like Parsons.
We're not contenders this season. Just let Harden + Parsons develop chemistry and grow, ala a KD/WB earlier years where they sucked but grew as players. These 2 guys will be main cogs for us 2-3 years down the line and potentialy for the next decade. Their development will be crucial on how we do a few years down the line. The coaching staff needs to let them know this is their team now and just let them fire away.
I think he just has to assert himself as the secondary scorer on the team. Work on his spot up jump shot and he will be good. Not a superstar but definitely a 2nd or 3rd option on the team
He's been more aggressive with the ball this season. He's showing flashes of a mid-range game. His shots from downtown have been money. He even posted up against Felton last night and hit a turnaround. He's going from valuable piece to keeper.
Seriously doubt there is for his production .... He's under contract this year at $888k with club options for the next two @ $926 & $964k. For comparisons sake , Memphis will be paying Gay $53.66m over the same period. Thats the kind of deal that allows a GM a whole lot of flexability .... I have to wonder what his next deal looks like .... especially if he continues to improve.
if i were Parsons...and had stats that he has right now the rest of this season...i/my agent would seriously ask for a raise...and im sure he'd be deserving of it... I think Morey would rather work out something this offseason than when his price point becomes way too high...
The following two years of the deal are at the clubs option .... Im sure they could restructure those and remain within the confines of the CBA if they chose to do so ... if they thought it in the clubs best interest.
Man .... I hate that he's gone. I wonder if Toronto would send him back for Lin and the rights to .... Royce White.
why only these 2 players? how about asik lin morris paterson..i think they all glue pretty well already...imagine in a year or two...
I hope people are voting Chandler to the all-star team. But even if people are not voting for him he will very likely be one of the starters on the sophomore team. Among sophomores Chandler is 3rd in scoring, 4th in rebounding, 5th in assists, 5th in steals. On top of those stats Chandler is the single best defensive player from that draft class. Kawhi Leonard is the only other defender that might be as good of a defender as Chandler. If anybody doubts Chandlers defensive abilities just watch his work against Melo in the game against the Knicks. Melo was increadably hot until Chandler started guarding him.
