Not only will he kills the cap space that the Rockets need to get a max contract star, he will kill the defense too.

The Knicks do this trade in a heartbeat because Amar'e Stoudamire has the worst contract in the history of mankind relative to his performance. You have to be doing the Knicks a favor to even fathom.

anyone have an idea whats Amare contract is like? Its seems so long ago when he sign with the knicks for that huge contract. If his contract is for 2 more years I'm more than happy to have a look at him.

Anyway, this should go to the random trade ideas.

Amare's knees are broken/irreversibly deteriorated. WHY do ppl keep bringing him up? PPatt is infinite better than a corpse, right? Amare's usefulness on the court is about the same as a corpse.

We need to be targeting Eric Bledsoe. The guy is not getting enough minutes behind CP3 and we sure as hell could use a decent backup pg.

If it was possible, that'd be great. But seems unlikely that the Clippers will give him up. He's the extra kick/X factor/energy that makes the Clips an intriguing/dangerous team.

Im bored so i turned to the almighty trade machine...

Everyones clamoring for bledsoe so i tried workin out a potentially fair deal...

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b9elf2l

Houston Out - 2pats, daquan cook, royce white, 2nd rd pick
Houston In - eric bledsoe, lamar odom
Houston Outlook - we gain a backup pg(potential successor) and take a cancer in odom from the clips and morey would "billy beane" tjones into the starting lineup...

Clippers In - Wilson Chandler, Royce
    Clippers Out - bledsoe, odom
Clippers Outlook - with chauncey slated to be the backup pg they gain a very solid chandler to start at thier weakest position at the 3... they also gain a 2nd rd pick and take a risk with white while getting rid of the mistake of odom...

Denver In - 2pats, cook, 2nd rd pick
    Denver Out - Wilson Chandler
Denver Outlook - they trim thier loaded wing and add a pf that they need... they like faried alot but they want him at the 3 and hed be a nicr compliment to pat(rebounds for him)... also gain a pick and an unknown...

This exact trade may have been presented before. Still doesn't address how the Clippers have zero interest in any of the Rockets' tradable players and are very high on keeping Bledsoe. They're so high on him that they almost didn't even trade for Chris Paul if it meant parting with Eric Bledsoe.

I don't see how that package gets it done, since we're talking about

    - yet another backup for Blake Griffin on a roster that already has 3, except this one can't rebound

    - a one-dimensional 3-point specialist on a new team that doesn't crank many 3's anyway

    - a problem player the Rockets would be elated to dump, whose public maturity issues have been an embarrassment to the team and its fans

    - a second round pick??

The Rockets would likely have to overpay and get a first rounder involved to snatch up Bledsoe, and that's something the Rockets would be crazy to do for a modest upgrade at PG.

The only circumstances that would put other teams in the picture is if the Clippers cheaped out on re-upping Bledsoe. And that seems unlikely, since if they were planning on doing that, then they wouldn't have just picked up his option 2 months ago to keep him out of unrestricted free agency in the first place.

The other possibility is if Bledsoe got unhappy with cuts to his playing time, which is unlikely but not impossible, since he will see less time on the court when Chauncey Billups and Grant Hill return from injuries.

And even then, it is something that would only be possible if / once the Clippers get Chris Paul locked into a long-term contract. Then maybe they would be more amenable to parting with a talented backup. But until then? It ain't happening.

Is the cap 60 mil this year? If so according to the link 25 teams over the cap so should be a lot of movement this trade deadline. http://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm

I must have missed that. It looks worse than I even thought, though, since now in addition to everything else, the question becomes why the Nuggets would want to add another 4 when they already have a frontcourt logjam? Even with Harrington and Birdman gone, it's still a huge challenge for George Karl to find minutes for every good 3/4 and 4/5 on that roster. They'd really want to get rid of one of their only guys who can stretch the floor at the position in favor of...a 30% three point shooter who isn't big on this whole "rebounding" thing?

The only reason Wilson Chandler isn't playing isn't because the Nuggets don't like him or he's fallen out of favor with George Karl or something. It's because he's been playing hurt and they've shut it down to give him the proper time to recuperate from surgery.

And the Clippers, for their part, would really want ANOTHER rotation forward because Blake Griffin, Caron Butler, Matt Barnes, and Grant Hill aren't enough? Really?

I don't mean to crap on your trade or something. If we're just coming up with fantasy scenarios that would never happen but that we'd like to happen because they'd make the Rockets better, fine. I'm with you. But let's not try to appeal to the realism of things like this.

You'd agree that aside from the nitpicky issue of Chandler going to one team and not the other, everything else I've said about Bledsoe is indeed correct? Especially with regards to how much the Clippers like him, just picked up his option to keep him a RFA, and would have zero interest in trading him for garbage? That's way more relevant here.
