Nice project! I enjoyed all the vids.

It reminds me of Morgan Spurlock's Failure Club series on Yahoo.

    You're awesome man.

I'm in Austin and if there's any way I could help you get rejected, let me know!

Actually, interviewing Jeremy Lin 1 on 1 is on my list. It's going to be a lot more complicated than just showing up and ask. It might or might not get off the ground, but we shall see.

Thanks buddy for your encouragement. For now, the only help I need is idea suggestions. I have compiled a list, but will run out of ideas sooner or later.

This is awesome. I love this type of stuff.

Already in my favorites...will check often. Very cool concept that all of us can relate to in some way or another.

However, I have trouble watching the videos because they give me anxiety. I have trouble watching clips of people feeling awkward...I can't explain it.

Like, on reality tv, when someone is about to be embarrassed and what not, I have to switch the channel because I can't handle knowing that their shame is coming!

    Weird how the mind works.

This "Rejection Video" theme would also work well with Basso's attempts to gain credibility for his beliefs/ideas. :p

This seems like a great idea! A couple of things:

    1. You might be interested in a book by Bob Goff called "Love Does". It's basically a series of stories of his life of just trying ridiculous things and seeing the results - unlike aiming for failure though, it's sort of extreme stories like Jackie where he tried ridiculous things and actually ended up succeeding. (the idea is to motivate people to pursue the ridiculous in life) One example is that he got rejected from law school, but that's what he absolutely wanted to do. So he went and sat in front of the school President's office for about 7 days straight, all day long, saying hi to the President everytime he went in and out of his office. Eventually, they let him in. Warning: it's Christian-themed, but I think it's really entertaining even ignoring that part of it.

    2. I own a coffee shop in Austin. If any coffee shop things are on your list, I think it would be fun to see how our staff responds. I can also let you know when the best times / most entertaining staff / etc would be.

The fact that this stuff makes some of you guys cringe, it points out that you all too need to work on things like this. This is a great thread.

I'm very happily married and my proposal was a highlight of my life. I was very sure she would say yes before I pulled that off. I don't have much fear in public speaking, but I do fear rejection in business setting. That's why I'm doing this.

Major, I will take you up on your offer. I want to buy a latte from your staff, but I want to make it myself. However, since I know nothing about coffee making, I will ask your staff to teach me how. Does that sound good to you? If so, let me know the address and preferred time. However, you need to promise me that you won't tip them off, or it will be no fun.

Sounds good! I'm leaving my email address in your Reputation, so you can email me that way if you have any questions for me. I think that's a great idea, and I'd be curious to see how they respond to that. I've tried in the past to get former staff (that the current staff doesn't know) to just come in and start making themselves a drink to see what happens, but none of them will do it. :)

Location is Dominican Joe Coffee Shop at 515 S. Congress. Best times for this week would be Saturday night (tomorrow) or Tuesday night (8pm to 11pm are ideal as we're fairly slow - the later the better as we get slower so the staff is less likely to be doing anything else). The guy working both those nights is really laid back and has been there a while and might have fun with it. The girl on Saturday night is pretty new, so she'd probably be hesitant. The girl on Tuesday night is also laid back and has worked there for a while. I have no idea what kind of response you'll get!
