What's up with the defense? They've allowed 37 and 31 in back to back games. There are times I'm looking at the screen frustrated, because there is no pressure on the QB when Watt gets double teamed. Teams will continue to double team Watt, and this is where Barwin/Reed/Smith/Mercilus haven't stepped up as of late. Speaking of Barwin, I'm starting to have doubts about whether the Texans should re-sign him in the off-season.
Its only been two games. Let's wait a little until we start crucifying the defense. Fatigue could be a factor, at least for this game.
Cody is a big part of why we were one of the top teams in hurries and sacks prior to the last 2 games. We miss that guy.
Before the year if i told you Cushing, Joseph and Cody all missed a game against an explosive offense, it wouldn't shock that our D would struggle, Combine that with 4 days rest. It's becoming worrisome, but not quite panic time just yet.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fatigue And the second half of an NFL season is always tougher than the first.
Everything will be ok now that Bradie James isnt out there. Rudd and Sharpton are what i want to see.
i don't know why we gave up so much to JAX we just slept that game, but this detroit offense is top 5 in the league...give the D credit for holding up when it mattered the most.. and we were without jjo, cush, cody this 1.5 week break is much needed, and i think we'll recuperate well against the titans just be patient OP!
Dang, this is their third game in 12 days. I think you saw it from both defenses a week later, but after a hard fought, physical game, both the Texans and Bears struggled the next game. Both have two of the best units in the league. But, the Texans fought through another physical overtime game in their next game. It's no wonder they've struggled. They're tired and beat up and you see it in the line play leaving the DBs out to try to cover too long. But give them credit as, as much as they've allowed to the opposing offenses, they've made the stops when they mattered the most. They've rose up in gut-check time. You got to be proud of them for that. They get extra time now to rest up and get healthy before next week. I bet they play more like themselves moving forward.
So agree...knowing our luck, he will blow up elsewhere...but he has not earned any raise in pay whatsoever...Draft another OLB IMO...
It's not just two games. There have been times during other games where it hasn't looked good. The Texans are like the 2009 Saints. They get stops when they need to. That's all that matters here. At this point, nobody should consider them to be dominant in games, especially with Cushing and other defensive players playing hurt. Also.... today they played the #2 offense (#1 passing offense) in the league.
10 days off should bring at least half those guys back. Not sure how much Dobbins will matter since we have Sharpton back.
