Amazing win. Most of it luck, and that extremely questionable TD by Forsett. But seriously. Shayne Graham may be the worst kicker in the history of the NFL. Even Kris Brown could kick it further than 30 yards on the kickoff. He even almost missed the game winning 30 yard field goal. I don't fault him as much for the 51-yarder, but regardless. I have more confidence in a Matt Schaub 90 yard Hail Mary than a 10 yard field goal by Graham. The bad side of going 10-1 is the fact that the small problem spots on our team aren't getting exploited and are going completely ignored because of our record.
He's sucked this year, but it's not typical of him. He's been one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. He's not the same kicker as he was then though, his leg has left him. Hopefully he doesn't cost us in the playoffs.
I got pissed that he even almost missed the 30 yarder but I wasn't even surprised. Special teams outside of Martin recently is a wreck.
It does feel inevitable, but lets just think positive. I think at this point Kubes knows late FG's need to be a last resort and we always need to closer, can never be close enough with this guy. But Kubiak often proves me wrong on stuff like this.
I've been concerned about this since he missed the 52 yarder against Miami opening day. If he is more accurate (and to be fair, if not for a false start against Jacksonville), the Texans spend much less effort winning the last two games.
You know, normally I would let this bait me and I'd take shots at you. But I don't really care how I am perceived on Clutchfans by you or anybody else. Call me a child, but its your burden to do so, not mine. You should do yourself a favor and keep me on ignore.
Before Jacksonville, he was 15/17. It's not like he's sucked all year. But he's 5/8 in the last 2 games. I'm also convinced Marciano is calling for shorter kicks, line drives, squibs. Whenever he booted it today, it got to the middle of the endzone which is exactly what Hanson was doing. He doesn't have the big leg, but he can get it to the endzone. I just think Marciano wants our opponents to return it, thinking he can stop them before the 20 which is laughable with our team but I wouldn't put it past them.
Don't be surprised if there is a "kick off" on Tuesday. They brought in 3 kickers last week. I think Shayne has kicked his last FG for the Texans.
What? I just don't want the Texans to lose in the playoffs because a singular player screwed us over. Last year Jacoby Jones, this year Shayne Graham. EDIT: Oh never mind, you weren't talking to me. Lol.
in the nfl, luck plays an important role along with offense, defense and special teams. but yeah, that dude scares me. It sucks that our rookie kicker had to suffer that injury. i'd offer a 5th rounder for the polish cannon even for one season. It's not like the raiders need him, they're passing it like a gazillion times.
You do need to watch football to know that Graham has been historically accurate before this season. You think the Texans looked at the available kickers in the offseason and told themselves let's pick the worst one to invite?
What's your point ? Yea dude isn't best in the league blah blah blah ....He was brought in to give Bullock some competition in camp, but bullock went down,so we're stuck with him for the year.He pulled out the win,so be happy. Can't really blame a guy for missing the 51 yarder, when his career long is 53 ..should have given the guy a better shot.
