You seriously think that's racist? you're delusional. it's used for every situation pretty much.

some of you guys need thicker skins for the real world that awaits you.

I do. I didn't realize I'd have to state that in the post. I thought it would be obvious.

Shaun Livingston could have put up those numbers with the same amount of minutes, and he would have only been paid around $3 million.

I haven't really looked into this, but I would guess that Lin is one of the worst production-per-dollar starting PGs in the league.

Hopefully that turns around. Ideally, I'd like to see him find his shooting stroke and stay in Houston for a long time. But if he is getting outplayed by Toney freakin' Douglas and getting paid starting PG money, I'll be less than ecstatic to see him on the court in a Rockets uniform.

And as it's been said a million times by a lot of people including me, it's most disappointing we already had two established PGs, but the FO decided to go for the hype, the marketing instead.

I read there's a rumor the owner pushed for Lin for marketing reasons, I have no idea what the validity of that comment is, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

i think what he meant was you shouldn't generalize Lin fans as if all of them acted the same . maybe you should consider call out the name of those bad Lin fans/posters or use Some of the Lin fans to start your post next time.

There was a slim chance we were getting Jeremy Lin when we decided not to give Dragic that player option. I don't think they had anything to do with eachother.

Not necessarily. Different people become fans for different reasons. Some people because they are born in the town and start following the team. Others because the team has won a lot and they enjoyed watching the team play and began to follow. And also many because they liked a particular player that played for the team. After a while such player fans can easily become team fans because over time, watching the team play and investing their emotions in the success of the player, which is almost inevitably linked to the success of the team, they can't help but grow an attachment to the team.

Look at the biggest franchises in world sports. You think all the fans of those teams started out that way? How does a team grow its fanbase over the world?

For example, my cousin started following Man United because of David Beckham. Personally I can't stand beckham and so I hate United. Beckham is long gone but I still hate united while my cousin is still a Man U fan, pretty hardcore now too. Watches all their matches, buys the gear, the whole nine yards.

If Lin succeeds with the rockets and is here for many years you can be guaranteed that a good percentage of Lin fans will become permanent rockets fans.

Ultimately that is a good thing for the franchise because the bigger the fanbase, and the broader the fanbase, the more advertisers want to come (were talking long term not just short term). The more famous the team, the biggers its profile, the better stars you can attract and you can afford to pay them. All those things are what ultimately lead to long term continued success on the court/pitch/field of play as well as good financial health for the franchise which I'm guessing is what REAL fans care about the most?

So you can continue to be narrow-minded and short-sighted and decry the so called 'fake' fans and snub your nose at them, but that's the kind of attitude that causes teams to remain small town, small time teams. Thankfully for the Rockets the owners and managers have more vision, sense and understanding of basic human nature than you.

Acquiring Lin isn't just about getting sponsorship now but about growing the rocket's brand and awareness worldwide. And any one who thinks that money has nothing to do with sporting success needs to have their head examined.

That is why, any REAL rocket's fan should be rooting and hoping for Lin's success. On the other hand, people with your kind of attitude, who act in such a derisory and condescending manner to newcomers who you label as 'fake fans,' cast a very negative impression of the franchise at precisely the time when the spotlight is on. Perhaps as a 'rockets fan for life,' you should try to do a little soul searching and learn to be more open minded.

isn't that an average starting pg salary? and those are average stats. andre miller, calderon, jameer nelson? they are all doing worst than lin right now. not to mention the fact that lin camped in the corner playing sg for 5 or 6 games.

Lin is the marketing approach to tanking in the draft. Could you imagine how bad we would be without Harden? We were planning to tank all along this year, but Morey couldn't and shouldn't of passed on Harden

His handles haven't improved. Y'all thought Mario Chalmers was bad, just wait until Avery Bradley guards him.

I know he's been playing poorly so far but I honestly don't think Lin deserves the amount of vitriol aimed at him on this site. RIP Linsanity, eremy Lin, Jeremy Lin is a joke etc. Amazing support from his own fans.

It's almost as if some of you are actively enjoying his terrible form. His numbers in NY suggests he's nowhere as bad as he's been playing at the moment & him potentially being a bust doesn't benefit the Rockets Organization in any way whatsoever.

Avery Bradley plays SG though. Rondo would guard him.

Look whether the meme is racist or not; the original poster didn't intend for it to be racist; this is such a commonly used meme...hell i never even associated with the asian culture, i always just thought of it as a funny meme. But your response to it was definitely racist and not even the slightest bit appropriate.

What's up with all the race sensitivity.

If you spin an Asian around in circles, does he become disoriented?
