Sounds like Landry, Brooks, Budinger, Jordan Hill, Patterson, Lowry... either they're upstarts filling in missing ingredients who's play becomes more generic as full time players or starters, or they have an upstart on their tail and they "appear" more generic (like Lowry with Dragic behind him) Lowry and Chuck Hayes, they did actually IMPROVE their play in the starting lineup. Its to the Rocket's credit those are some 2 ROUNDERS, late first rounders actually being competent players
All of a sudden Parsons is 44.0% FG and 39.0% from three. Thats Chase Budinger offensive percentages. Hopefully he can keep it going Though I don't have much confidence in Parson's jumper and form, he doesnt have a smooth stroke. But as long as he can settle into an effective one Yeah you can see games of 1 for 4 1 for 3 1 for 4, and its like GOSH they're BRICKING, get that TONEY DOUGLAS CRAP outta here Next game 5 for 8 Overall FG% = 42.1 % Not that great, but not too bad either. Discussed enough already, but its something similar to baseball really (and how Rafer Alston was able to stay on the court), sometimes theres other things within the "at-bats"/shot attempts or even past it. Such as did you draw some walks/free throws within that, were any homers/threes within that, etc. Parson's was probably just having a typical stretch of games that coulda happened in January. But at least its not Toney Douglas bad
This thread is starting to look pretty silly. Chandler is starting to play like a borderline all-star
Last year the knock on Parsons was that he was a below average three point shooter and a horrible free throw shooter. Now he is shooting 39% in three pointers and 77% in free throws. That is some dramatic improvement. I think now we see why other teams always want Parsons included in trades and why Morey has refused. Parsons is becoming an excellent all round player. I think Parsons upside is much greater than anything that Battier has ever done. Our young players are making real progress, and are becoming more accomplished and becoming more valuable with every game. Parsons, Morris, TJones, these guys are starting figure things out. It's only a matter of time before everything comes together and we start winning games on a consistant basis.
Bruce Bowen. Came into the league with an ugly shot, left the league with an ugly shot. The difference was that he practiced and practice and practiced that corner 3 until it became a real weapon for the Spurs. Hard work can often overcome any sort of deficiency in form and get those averages up.
He's improved on offense, but his defense has regressed a lot so far. Morris is very good defensively though.
I kind of agree with this. I don't think I would go so far as to say his defense has regressed a lot but I don't think it's as good as last season.
Love seeing Parsons on the floor. Cutting, knocking down threes, doing good on fast breaks ... no slumping here. Though the OP is a tad ancient at 10 days old.
Lakers radio announcers were RAVING about Parsons last night. The Heat crew did too. He has a lot of potential. Consistency is a hard thing for a young player to learn, but Parsons has been pretty good so far.
Different backcourt. Dragic-Lee is so much more better than Lin-Harden. Lee is Mr. No Mistakes and Dragic has this uncanny ability to recover to stay in front of his man.
What?? are u serious, a backcourt of dragic and lee being better than harden and lin? who is better than harden in that group? once we star using lin like we are supposed to, lin is on the same level as dragic, i think lin has more upside IMO
I just gonna have to ask it: can Parsons become a star? If he'd been a high draft pick there would be a lot of hype around him right now. He seems to be doing it all. Yeah, most of it is off the ball stuff and hitting open shots - but if I'm correct he is starting to look more for creating his own shots in the last couple of games and doing a good job. Obviously he is not there yet. The question is just: is he an early bloomer that has hit his ceiling already - or can he take that next step, become more consistent and be a player that you draw up plays for? Can he be the 3d piece on our big 3 puzzle in the future? Or am I just overhyped and his ceiling is a good role player like Battier?
almost any of the rockets players could become a star...that's why i love the work of these coaches... in spite of few losses or debatable decisions...the players are improving visibly almost from game to game in front of our very eyes...
I noticed in the 4th qtr vs. CHI when Douglas was in, CP was being asked to be the playmaker. I think TD himself asked CP to make the plays. That's another aspect of Chandler's game that has grown this year. He's always had the BBIQ; this year the Rockets actually are depending on him more. His on-ball defense has slackened a bit probably because of his longer PT and he's had to carry more of the offensive load. As Clyde and Worrell did point out, he plays best in the big moments. So he's been overall excellent so far--next only to Harden and Asik in importance for the Rockets.
Like his improved rebounding and shooting. Hes def taken the next step. Still don't think he's the long-term answer at the 3 though. Amazing how much Morris and Parsons have improved in just a short time.
Can score, shoot, rebound, make some plays off the ball, defend, young and improving. He is our answer at the 3 for years to come.
