Worse game I've seen Lin played thus far. Harden played great, but he needs to improve his ball control...I thought Lin top it tonight but Harden had 1 more TO. Houston needs to take better control of the ball....just image if they cut those TOs to low or med teens = blowout game. Good win for Asik!

out PG situation just sucks, i don't see a future with Lin and TD, maybe morey should consider getting lowry back...

I don't see any development of these two guys

also We need a center who can shoot, yes I said it, we need a center who has the offensive game, Asik would only be good in certain situations, he is not the answer for us

Yes, it happened before. Honestly, if there weren't so many "defending" posts, there probably wouldn't have been that many "attacking" posts. Especially those posts about how Sampson did a crappy job, despite of the win, because he might have hurt Lin's feelings.

We played a bulls team that is missing its all-world player Rose tonight. Lets not get overly excited here. Douglas was able to rise to the occasion gotta give him props for sure However, he is streaky to begin with. Granted, anything is better than what lin has shown out there. Will see as the season continues how both develop. But there is a reason NYK ditched douglas guys. Lin REALLY needs to step it up on friday or else...that game will be his defining moment this season thus far. I am afraid it will be a rude awakening, but i really hope i am wrong.

The biggest reason I want Lin to succeed is because I just don't want Stephen A. Smith to be right.

The problem with Sampson's coaching in terms of Lin is the timing of his substitutions, not that he pulls Lin when he's playing badly.

In general, when the player is getting in Rhythm you should let them play a few more minutes and let them push. The difference between 10 and 12 minutes in a quarter is minimal, but disrupting a rhythm player is really detrimental to their confidence.

Also, pulling Lin in the 4th quarter after 2 minutes is not very constructive either. TD played some good defense on Robinson, but Robinson Also cooled down and missed multiple open shots that he had been making earlier in the night.

If we accept the premise that the Rockets are looking to develop Lin for his potential, then having so little flexibility in the rotation is detrimental to that player's development and confidence. Whether that's pulling Asik, or Lin, or Harden when he's heating up, it's short sighted thinking.

Part of why D'Antoni got so much out of Lin (and alot of other players in the past) is that he gives them freedom to make errors once he's decided he's confident in their play ability. That gives them the opportunity to play their way out of slumps, whether it's shooting, passing, etc.

Sometimes D'Antoni would let Lin play a quarter and a half straight, other times he'd pull him earlier and talk with him.

It's not a question of "special" treatment, it's a question of not making the player feel like that you're over their shoulder on every play.

I would be more okay with benching Lin in the 4th if Sampson had not done it more than once and on nights where Lin was playing well prior to sitting. It just makes me wonder what exactly Sampson's goals are.

Let me ask you guys- can't make new thread- do u guys believe in developing our three new acquisitions or winning more games? Do you think that harden, ASik, or Lin should sit everytime they have a bad game or plays thru struggles as a development process. It seems like to me that some of you care more about the win now than developing players.

I knew NY was getting rid of garbage by getting rid of TD, I just didn't expect another pile.

Welcome to Clutchfans...T-Mac, Yao, Ariza, Scola, Dalembert, Patrick Patterson, Lowry or Dragic, Sura, Mobley...the list goes on forever.

I believe that we suffer from this condition that has something to do with Knees and muscle spasms of the jerking kind.

Knicks will be gunning for his head. And frankly, Lin doesn't need knicks help at this point, he can self destruct all on his own. I'm pulling for the kid, but I am left disappointed each time.

Yes. Players that are fan favorites especially. Battier, Scola, Martin jump quickly to mind.

NY was a completely different offensive scheme. You say he can play but you are basing it off of a very small sample size.

For example, Lebron in the playoffs two years ago was playing like **** compare to what he is now. Thus, he is not better than Wade who carried the Heat and KD and Dirk who led his team to a championships.

I know it is an example, but maybe the law of averages is coming into play and we see we overpaid him. We did pay him too much and I always believed that. Sad part is you are right in thinking that we won't be able to get rid of him that easy with his current contract... For all you people thinking he has a back loaded contract and people will love to get a large expiring contract to clear space.... well that also means that we lose money in cap space that go to Lin that prevents us from signing marquee FAs in years before Lin's last year.

Yes. It seems like sampson's actions speak louder than his words. He may say he supports Lin, but it sure doesnt seem that way.
