Wow I missed this post and didn't know my post caused so much angst. I shouldn't have used the politically charged figure as my analogy. That's my bad. And FWIW, I consider myself a conservative and I hate people "on my camp" who do things that mess up what I believe in.

The whole point, whether you like Rush or not, is that this kind of people are divisive by what they do. They "stand up" for their causes but by doing so they alienate more than persuade people for their causes. The only people who like them are people who already agree with them. They have no persuasive power on neutral people, let alone people on the other side of the fence.

Ironically, there are lots of Royce Whites on this board. Just go to the D&D, if the GARM hasn't given you enough evidence.

Guaranteed contract doesn't guarantee him a spot on the team. It guarantees that he'll get paid, on the team or not.

I'm done with this kid -- I think you can add borderline personality disorder to his list of mental health problems.

Actually, he DOES have carte blanche to say or do whatever he wants. There might be repercussions to that -- alienating fans/teammates/coaches, more time spent in the D-league, possibly even getting cut -- but he's clearly stated that his #1 priority is to speak up for himself and others with mental illnesses. You and I might disagree with that that agenda, but there's no reason he can't do what he's doing, just a buttload of reasons why he shouldn't.

Well I mean, what was Dr. Fink supposed to say? He's trying to act like he's on Royce's side, otherwise there's no chance any sort of treatment can be done cause Royce would adopt the "everyone is against me" stance again, which he's still doing either way.

And all this public trashing of the Rockets is just immature and unprofessional. Pathetic. I admire the Rockets for having so much patience with him.

Really? He's doing nothing with basketball. He's not playing, not practicing, not rehabilitating but can't be cut. This is probably the worst thing to heard in this season so far.

Well no, a good therapist does not collude with his patient in deflecting reponsibility. I'm guessing that White twisted things to his liking. That said, I don't think that Dr. Fink is sufficient for treating the problems that White has. Fink is an MD with no apparent expertise in exposure therapy, which is what White needs. He needs a cognitive behavioral psychologist who will call him out on his BS.

Also, I can't believe that White is allowed to call out his team on Twitter bgauranteed if he was on the Knicks he'd have been waived long ago. Rockets need to show some balls here.

"Disagree about Rockets not being supportive. Have you seen me play? Have you checked how many minutes I have been getting?"

They can cut him. He'll still get paid, but at least the distraction will be gone.

By tweeting this he just showed the world that the Rockets do have his best interest at heart even when Royce doesnt. The fact that the man the Rocekts are paying to evaluate Royce would agree that the Rockets dont know how to be supportive is a Clear statement from the Rockets organization that they are doing things to help even at their expense... It also proves that having a second opinion is very important and that he should have went along with the Rockets plan a long time ago, regardless of how he thinks things are going. The problem with Royce is Precived help versus actual help.

I didn't know that and thanks for educating me. And I do think the Rockets need to show some balls, at least in some manner-- fining was a part of it and I'm glad they did it, but I think at this point more needs to be done.

I said it before the season...I just didn't want to harp on it because all the Royce White fans would call me a hater...it's obvious the guy won't last in this league, I gave him 5 years but it's looking like it'll be a lot shorter.

He's good at things but not great at anything...undersized...passes well, but turns the ball over alot. Not a good shot, decent rebounder. Meh.

Oh, and he's got serious mental issues coupled with extreme immaturity and/or an entitlement complex. He's not able to be a competent member of the NBA, because of his personality issues. Seriously, I could not understand how anyone could've thought this guy was worth the risk...nice move Morey.
