This is wrong on so many levels. I would take Kyle over all of those guys.

Why did Greg Smith left college so early?

take off your Rockets Lowry jersey. Then come back and post with no homerish emotions. Lowry was a good PG but not something you build around.

Kyrie plays absolutely no defense whatsoever. None. Zero. Last season Kyrie was definitively the worst defender at his position sporting a Defensive Wins Shares of .6 for the year, and this year, it’s zero. Like Kyrie's defense is offensive. I would take Lowry over him. It's a preference for PG's who actually try on defense not homerism.

    LOL, wut?

Have you seen Kyrie Irving play this year? He's on the shelf right now with a hand injury, but was averaging 23, 6, and 4 as a 20-year-old with only a lockout-shortened year of experience under his belt.

I think he has a chance to be the best PG in the NBA in 3-4 years.

    Felton? Holiday? Are you serious?

Lowry was borderline All-Star last season, and he has still be playing like one before injury. Lowry is easily top 10 PG in this league, and definitely in tier 2 of PGs behind the likes of tier 1 PGs like Chris Paul.

C'mon. There's no question whatsoever that Lowry is a top-20 PG.
If you wanna disagree that he's not a top-10 PG, that's fine. I would disagree with you, but that one might be arguable. But top-20? Please... Lowry is a stud. Unlike most PGs he does everything well. He's always playing hard, he can shoot, he can push the pace, he can run the offense, he rebounds and he's a beast defender.
Guys like Curry, Holiday, Lillard, Irving, etc... only play one side of the ball.

As for the topic I'm a fan of Smith. He's still pretty raw, but I think he deserves some more minutes.

I addressed it above. A lot of people love Kyrie I get that. But Lowry was also playing at an insanely high level to before he got injured right. The one thing that Kyrie has over a lot of great PG's right now is that he is ridiculously young & plays so well already. But like I said I prefer guards who at least try on defense. Kyrie doesn't Lowry does. I get that my opinion will probably be highly controversial because Kyrie is universally adored in the NBA  It's just my preference.

This is wrong. Jrue Holliday is a really good defender for his postion. All of the others you are right don't really play both sides of the ball.

    Agreed 100%

Does Lowry make a team a playoff contender?

Holiday gets stuck on picks like very few players do. It's like he's magnetic to the guy screening him.

LOL that's funny. Jrue does have his weaknesses on D you are absolutely right on that score. But he is still a lot better defensively than Curry, Dame & Kyrie which was kind of the point I was trying to make. In fact the most recent Cavs vs Sixers game Jrue played some really stellar defense on Kyrie. In fact I have never seen anybody lock down Kyrie like that. It really stood out to me. Just some thoughts.

You're right. I shouldn't have put Holiday in a group with those other guys. Overall he's not a bad defender at all... his screen defense just always bothered me. He's a fine player. I'd still take Lowry over him without much hesitation, but that's another discussion.

Agreed. Like I said I would take Kyle over a lot of PG's in the NBA. And Jrue has shown substantial improvement in his game particularly this season it is quite remarkable. He runs an offense so much better now when before he couldn't run an offense to save his life. And if you watch the Sixers game the spacing is so nice because he is surrounded by shooters. So he can penetrate at will. Plus Jrue is also a good perimeter threat himself. I envy the Sixers spacing to be honest when i watch Rockets games. If ever the Sixers get Bynum back (that bowling setback is embarrassing) the Sixers could be a really good team.
