    Agree 100% x10.

This is the most useful and readable thread I found so far is CF. Let keep it up. Basic screen playsets are quick ways for these young talent players to be good in a short time besides finding open shot plays. Organized plays instead of TD style plays (no playsets but running around aimlessly)

    1. Jeremy should not shoot any more set shots(drive it).
    2. Harden should only play point when jeremy is on bench.
    3. Patterson should not start.
    4. Morris should never play the 4.
    5. Consistently use aldridge at the back up 5.
    6. Begin to incorporate Jones as the starting 4.
    7. Be consistent in your offensive style.
    8. Do not let chandler play the point.
    9. Do not let delfino play the point either.
    10. Look to move patterson, douglas and cook for guards.

Pretty good list, though I wonder if some of these (#3) may not jive with the front office direction. Gotta play (start?) Patterson if you want to trade him and hopefully maximize your return. Pat needs to help himself in that regard anyway and rebound the dang ball.

Even Rockets has to lose or tank in the end of any game, fans still want to watch players play gracefully and fluidly. Team plays instead of hero plays nor aimless plays [IMG]

    1. set more plays off the screens
    2. draw up more post up plays
    3. reduce spot up shooting cuz I believe it's making up 25-30% of our shots and we are a god awful spot up shooting team
    4. incorporate more PNR play for our guards.
    5. teach Omer and Pat to set good hard picks for our guards
    6. teach Omer not to lose the ball and/ or blow layups so often
    7. make our offense less predictable in the 4th...don't just hand it to Harden
    8. do not make questionable subs during critical times in the game just so the bench can get their PT

I agree with those. I just think that a lot of those aren't easily corrected, and will take time and repetition to actually implement.

A lot of the other things could be basically corrected in one or two games. As far as long term corrections there is a lot we could look at. Harden could get slightly better handles, Lin's defense and shooting need to improve greatly, Asik needs to be more forceful going up to the basket, Morris needs to play more in control, Douglas needs to improve his shot, and his handles. Those will all take a longer period of time.

JLin picks up his dribble in the lane, stops in the lane and starts pump faking, and has no mid range game (please call Calvin Murphy).

Let me add Asik, he plays for one of the greatest PF in the league and goes up softer than tissue paper. Chandler Parson continuing to shoot 3's after missing his last 4 (get a mid range game). Patrick Patterson spinning 12,000 times to get his jump hook off.

Helping defense is a fundamental part of the team defense , that's what you are taught when you start learning basketball in elementary school. The Rockets' problem is the defensive rotation after the initial help. They sometimes could rotate to the first open man, but rarely rotated after that. It takes a cohesive team effort to play good defensive, the Rockets is just too young to develop that cohesiveness yet.

He's a 40% 3-pt shooter so far this year. If he wants to take an open 3, I am perfectly okay with that.

I hope the training staff will do a better job. This team is young and shouldn't look dead tired in back to back games or on the road.

Although it hasn't been a focal point in rockets offensive schemes, throwing the ball to Asik in the low post and isolating him, is just something we should never ever consider doing. His post game is non-existent and I like that he facilitates occasionally in the high post. Isolation in the low post however, is essentially, a bad shot which is pretty much an unrecorded turnover.

Lin should stop leaving his man open, yeah i know, coach ask him to do... blah blah blah... poor execution, if you can't even guard your own man, stop helping others...

My apologies if mentioned already, but:

    1. Lin not following the ball so much on help defense, because he ends up losing his man behind him every time...TD is better in that regard
    2. Harden not split double teams when he drives, got the ball stolen so many times doing that
    3. Find Lin a good shooting coach and trainer, and talk to him about firing his current ones...He is out of shape, and his mechanics are flawed compared to last year...Sometimes your friends are your biggest obstacle to success
    4. Don't have Parsons bring up the ball, he makes stupid plays and becomes a TO machine
    5. Don't take the bench out when they're hot
    6. More transition defense, HardLin are only ones trying
    7. For Lin, get rid of your jump pass please, thanks
    8. More ball movement
