After Dubya's re-election the media fed into Rove's prediction of future Republican dominance. Like others have said, a 2 party system makes it very forgiving for the other. As for the promising governor mention, Palin looked credible before the Veep spotlight just because people were able to cherry pick her brightest moments to put on Youtube. I do hope in four years that Tea Party will carry the stigma of a shart, seen and felt far and wide...

I'm sorry, but Palin NEVER looked like a credible national candidate. Nobody would have ever heard of the self-described "momma grizzly in lipstick and high heels" if a desperate McCain campaign hadn't plucked her out of the middle of nowhere.
