Then maybe Lin is just a product of the D'antoni system? If Lowry and Dragic's can do well in under Mchale, maybe they would explode in a D'antoni system as well?
Any good pick and roll guard who can read and react to defenses and make good decisions would benefit a lot being in D'Antoni's system.
Lin could have helped his cause last game where he could have stepped up and he didnt... I dont think we will ever see an aggressive Lin again... one who needs to think shoot first and pass second....
If Lin is averaging below-40% FGA after 250 starts or so for the Rockets like Rafer was, then I'm sure plenty of people will be happy to ship him out, as was the case with Rafer. As I've said, this discussion reminds me of that around Cam Newton. Last year, he was a record-setting rookie phenom who was destined to be a superstar. This year, he's a liability who turns the ball over too much and pouts when things don't go his way. no kidding. ppl were also calling out lots of scrubs who were out of the league after 2 years. for 1 nash, there's probably 10 busts that deserved to be called out. but no, let's compare lin to nash just like it's ok for lin to shoot airballs, because kobe shot some airballs in a game 15 years ago. jesus, more than a decade ago!

I think it is also style of play. Like there are things Lin does that are eerily similar to Nash. Mike Dantoni said it since Lin's draft workout with the Knicks and he re-emphasized that even more when he was coaching him with the Knicks. Nobody is saying Lin will definitely be Steve Nash in 3 years. None of us can see the future after all. Remember when Nash was being consistently booed in Dallas? Did anybody then think he would be a two time MVP just a few years later. Unless your a magician the answer is no.
Rec'd. Great post. I agree. He reminds me of Nash as well. Of course, his shooting is nowhere close to Nash's, but Lin can work at that. Same with the handles. But he's explosive and can freewheel like Nash. I'm not going to sit here and say he'll be Nash, as you said, in like 3 years. But he has real talent. He just needs to take a step back, take a breath, and dig in and work. I think he'll be fine, but it will take some time.
Steve nash has elite handles and he never picks up the ball. Lin needs to work on that. Nash also one of the greatest shooters in NBA history he did 50/40/90 more than anyone else. The probability of lin or really anyone else being as good as nash is small.
