    Try this.

Settings > Apps > All > Google Services Framework

    Click clear data.

Now you can go back to System Updates in the settings menu under About and you'll see it give a last checked date of 1969. Click check now and see if it finds an update for you. Worth a try.

I take back my comments on 4.2. I dislike it and have gone back to 4.1.2.

I really hate how the lock screen flashes those white rectangles on the sides every time you turn the screen on.

Yeah, I'm hatin' the lockscreen. Had to replace the wonky font clock with an HD widget, and the white boxes are annoying as hell. And taking away options from the unlock slider makes no sense to me.

As silly as it sounds, the lockscreen is the "curb appeal" of the OS, and Android took a HUGE step backwards with this update.

4.2's weird clock fonts have grown on me. But everything else about the lockscreen sucks. It even added the Android standby 'double clock' on the lockscreen by dropping it back in the status bar...which IIRC Jelly Bean actually took away. Weird.

My galaxy nexus did not survive day one of my vacation (r.i.p.). Has anyone here gotten the nexus 4 yet?

I'm still waiting on mine with this cluster**** Google created on the orders. Hopefully I'll receive it later in the week.

4.2 has been so buggy and there's numerous features that people don't like about it. Google really needs to re-do it all and come out with a 4.2.1 update or something ASAP.

Those with N4's coming from GN's. How's the battery life? I want to drop my VZW GN because it gets horrid battery life but the reviews are so up and down about it.

Would you recommend the 10 if I mainly use tablets to browse the web? I don't want to hold it in landscape.

Also, is the screen that much better than the iPad.

Sounds good, I have to take my Xoom everywhere just to text people.

It has been amazing to browse/read clutchfans. Videos play flawlessly, and pretty much everything has been spot on. The screen is amazing. I haven't used an ipad since the ipad2, but yea, it feels better than that.

Have been trying that, no luck. Apparently the "yakju" build hasn't gotten the update yet.

I don't like the rectangles, but I like how the multitasking works much better on 4.2.

Also, the notifications are a little different. You have to pull down on the left side, otherwise you get the settings.

I cant wait for mine to arrive. Everyone's been raving about the screen and the performance. The one big thing that people have been knocking on is Chrome, which lags, but obviously that can be fixed with an update and optimization.

I don't see much point in the nexus 10 over an ipad unless you just don't want to use iOS.

Nexus 7 makes more sense because of the great price and the form factor/weight.

The new iPad and Nexus are on par with everything except the app ecosystem and battery life. The display is arguably better on the 10 than the iPad.

I had the Nexus 7. I think the 7 is better for reading books and magazines, at least IMO. It's a great device, but the Nexus 10 is a more multi-function device. From what I've seen thus far, Movies look more phenomenal on the 10 compared to the 7.

The price difference between the 7 and the 10 is $200, but to me when you look at what the 10 offers (a better processor, bigger + better display) it's definitely worth it. It's arguably the best 10-inch android tablet.

They do charge you for 2 day shipping. Might want to call them and figure out whats up

I called them and tried to figure out what was going on because it had been 2 days and I hadn't even gotten a tracking number. They used the standard, we are backed up blah blah blah, you should get a tracking number within 24 hrs. I wake up the next morning and my 10 was sitting on my doorstep

I think there is definitely a quality difference between the 10 and the 7. The 7 feels like it is made of cheaper plastic, and sometimes when I tap on the screen, I feel like there are air pockets or something loose. On the other hand, the 10 feels marvelous.

Chrome does lag a bit sometimes, but compared to other Android tablets, phones, or Smart TV Devices (equiso), almost every single app works flawlessly on the 10. None of that "force close" BS.

Well the 10 is cheaper than the ipad...
