Well, considering he didn't turnover the ball in the 3rd quarter and his two turnovers came in the 4th with the game out of hand doesn't really say much. The team gave up and Lin probably did as well. But yeah, 3 turnovers is too much in a game for any point guard. Oh was your question rhetorical, because you obviously weren't watching the game?

Different team obviously but worth at least pointing out that last yr's Rox started 3-7 and suffered nightmare 0-3 west coast road trip, too
— Jason Friedman (@JasonCFriedman) November 20, 2012
The season is still young that's for sure.
Says the guy with the irrational hatred for one player on the rockets. Plenty of Rockets had terrible games tonight for the Rockets, but you always seem to single him out.
You mean like a Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, Kyle Lowry or Luis Scola type? Had the Rockets gone into the offseason knowing James Harden was going to fall into their laps 3 days before the season started I am sure our roster would be much much different. You people need patience. It takes time to put a good team together.
Who was puzzled? You take him out to rest him for the stretch in case you are in striking distance. The momentum did not stop, in fact the lead got down to 9 (and still would have only been 12 or 13 if not for Cook's foolishness at the end of the quarter). The myth that taking him out ruined the run is patently false. Resting key players for the stretch run is common practice. Funny how you guys seem baffled any time Lin hits the pine.
He's right. McHale is decent at least. I guess it's true you never know what you have until it is gone. Sampson is a terrible situational coach. McHale, I don't think he takes out Asik in the 4th of that Heat game. I don't think he takes out Lin in this game. I also think the players would have given more for McHale because getting a lot of effort from his players was always his strength.
Yup I really don't get it. It is kind of odd to me to be honest. I think a lot of people are just trolling which really doesn't add anything constructive to the discussion.
The Lin tweet was not only an honest mistake that was corrected afterwards, I addressed it on the board as well. I would do the same again, only with the corrected number ... it was to illustrate why Sampson likely did the switch (and he confirmed as much 10 minutes later). The other two things? Absolutely no way. I'm not going to put up a defense on those two things as if they need it. It's ignorant of you to think this is some common goal. I can't believe we can't talk about the Rockets here, as we've done for 16 years, without some fans questioning our character. It sickens me. I think big picture and I think Jeremy Lin is going to be fine. I like Jeremy Lin the person a lot and am rooting for him, and I've talked about that on the board. However, he is in a major funk right now. He's shooting 34% and 24% from three-point range. I think people can point out these struggles without being assaulted on a personal level. And you'd be ridiculously off to think that. The front page dynamically displays hot topics. It changes hundreds of times a day without my manual input. You post in it, it displays on the front page. Yes, there's a "Jeremy Lin is a joke" thread. There's also 15 "Fire McHale!" and "Fire Morey!" threads and I meet with all of them face-to-face at times. I can't think of a Rocket who has struggled (or even excelled) who didn't have some vent thread aimed at them. Jeremy Lin is no exception.
That's because you are desperate and have unrealistic expectation. Feel free to go pick a pg in d-league as your starting pg.
Oh well, if you try to give a good analysis of the situation like Torocan on Lin, people will say the LOF are delirious and trying hard to defend him.
I've praised lin when he deserved it. If you botherd to take off you're blinders off. I'm not praisng someone who is a shortfall out there. He isnt helping the team. It's the truth.
I am convinced that if Toney Douglas was in the Lord of the Rings, he'd be an orc. He delights in dealing misery to his own team's fans.
Greg Smith is on the rise. Racked up 6 pts, 8 boards, and 3 swats tonight, and has been very active in limited burn this season. I'd like to see his role expand, as I think he could be a very impactful energy guy with aggressive D, put-backs, and rebounding. For what it's worth, he does have the highest PER on the team. He has promise as a 6'10'' 21-year-old with tools. The kid racked up full rides from Kansas, Florida, Arizona, Memphis, and Oregon as a HS star in Phoenix. I think grades had something to do with him winding up at Fresno State, old stomping grounds of Rafer & Chris Herren, but he was a bonafide blue-chip back in the day. Who gives a rat's ass now, right? Well, I think he's going to eventually live up to his prep billing. Hopefully he stays focused & continues to play with a high motor, because he could very well emerge on to the scene with 2Pat possibly being moved closer to the deadline. This is when I wish Morey could pry either Josh Selby or Tony Wroten from the Grizz to throw on the floor with a group like Harden, Mook, TJ, and Smith... dammit.
I agree that if our bigs cannot set proper screens for the guards, you can expect hero ball here on thru. harden can at least use his athelticism to still find a way to score, but it is asking a bit much for lin to do the same. Also, lins poor shooting isnt helping much either. Athleticism will only take one so far. Once the team learns proper setup and running the offfense with experience, it will all fall into place. the jazz just looked like well oiled machine out there. must be da coaching too?
LIn had another poor shooting night, but it was an overall bad night for most of the players. He played as good or as bad as Mo Williams (based on this game's stats)...and they both earn $8 mill and change this year. The difference was that other players for Utah were making their shots and not Houston...tough loss.
