that clarification is there because a player needs to attend nba games to be paid their nba wages. a player has the right to turn down the request to go to the d-league because it's not part of their contract.

    Lol wut.

You're comparing a complete accident that can happen while walking to an activity one chooses to take part in, which involves placing all of your weight on one knee, in a less than stable position? Really?

I have to be misunderstanding what you are saying.

    If not...

What part of this or the old cba equates salaries to attending NBA game for d-league assignment?

Perhaps smart, perhaps lucky where Bynum is concerned because I am pretty sure Morey would have traded for Bynum had the opportunity presented itself. And many of us would have supported the move (depending on what we had to give up).

Although Bynum could heal up and be a beast again, I am thinking had we traded for him and the rest occurred as it has, Rocket fans would feel cursed having still another franchise player go down in a heap of ashes due to injury.

They're not paid literally in the offseason, but the contracts they sign are for the entire year, including the offseason and pre/post league. For example, Lin is signed for approx. 8M a year. Does this mean he can go and sign with another team in the offseason, since the Rox are not paying him in the offseason and therefore he's not an employee of the Rox?

Another example is that the Rox didn't have to pay Parsons extra during the summer league and preseason, because his rookie contract already pays him for his services for one whole year, in contrast to someone like say Livingston who got paid for his services during preseason.
