I personally think we should develop Morris into a triple threat player, he has the potential to be like Carmelo or Carmelo-Light. The spin move he made today at the end of the game mirrors those of Anthony. I was at the game tonight that move just has Melo all over it. What do you guys think?
Poor man's Melo? He is a nice 6th man, He and Jones make a nice combo off the bench. Good to see Marcus becoming a quality NBA player.
Personally, I think he should be starting. We can use his 3-point shooting in the starting lineup, and he's a more versatile offensive player (and better rebounder to boot) than Patterson. It will help space the floor. Patterson doesn't do anything on offense except spot-up mid-range jump shots. He's morphing into Juwan Howard before my eyes. DO NOT WANT.
morrs is nowhere near as advanced as melo as a scorer, but he has potential to be a very solid nba player.
You could go to BOTH if ISO is a must. I've been saying all along with people burning me for it. Morris should start over Patterson. PPat is so overrated on this board.
yea i agree with morris over patterson then we will have a triple threat from low block instead of patterson shooting jumpers all game
For now, everybody miss Morris rather then Ppat, later when Morris play bad and ppat play good, everyone start to dumb morris, and praise PPAt, what a rockets fans,
its not about who play well right now but more about developing morris into a triple threat. im sure he'll produce more given the time and touches
It looks like they are starting to play Morris more at the 3, but the problem may come in that he isn't nearly as athletic as Melo. I'd rather not give him the ball and see it get turned over as much as we see Harden do such because we are trying to force development.
i remember ppat being very agressive and attacking rim in one game , a game after rookies started to get time...
I agree Morris should start, but Patterson rotates well on defense. He is a little bit better than Juwan.
The overreaction, and bashing in this forum is unreal...from day to day..and of course we are overrating our people...MOOK is playing great..he plays a 6th man role I think really well, and that should develop into his thing... When Harden is in the game we aren't playing real true ISO ball, we are playing a High PnR, with a "corner" option...so if the D collapses in and focuses on Harden, he can get the "And 1" or, get a layup/dunk, or dish it out to a specific corner depending on where the High PnR comes from. Harden has great vision though so he sees the court, and different plays in his view than we see at times... Look when James is in the game, he is the superior "downhill" get to the rim type of player...so we want to use that to his effectiveness. Mook is more of a slasher threat, a decent shooter that should get better, and I think Mook def. has more upside than Bud did, or does for that matter, and is doing a good job in that Bud like role. Mook feeds off the others facilitating, ball movement helps Mook...helps him be open for a shot, or helps him slash... So Harden to answer the question. But seriously people, "C'mon man"-with the reactions overreaction, and bashing of players to support others, just support the whole team...stop bickering about stupid stuff that is going on, albeit a player had a bad game, or the coaching staff blew something with not putting in so and so, or Lin had a good game, when he had an average one at most, then bash a player that played decent, to prop up said player... Not just talking to you in my reply at all just was answering your question, and I don't think he is a Melo type of player...Mook doesn't need to shoot 17/44 to have 23 points...Sarcasm there for Melo, and yes I think Melo is good, but his questionable decision making is lackluster...He is clutch though...LIKE MOOK SO FAR!
I don't think Mook would fit in as great when he would be a starting PF... The swingman position, and "small ball" when he's a 4 to spread the floor on other bigs, or match up against another small ball line-up suits him...but starting not so fast... Look PP isn't great, but we let Scola loose, and we are hoping TJones can be that PF type of player....The starting line up should have PP, Mook off the bench is more his role, and fits into the system better like this....Similar to the growing part of Harden... -It was either he, or Sefolosha...and Harden raised his hand. This is a diff. position, but if you see where I'm goin here, in the analogy.... So Sefolosha was the better defender "perhaps in OKC", and I believe a bigger longer type of body, at the 2, it fit well for a starting 2, and Harden to come off the bench, because Harden was a scorer put up points real quick off the bench, and was a good Defender in his own right, as he took the same "top player" match up on D that Sef. had, or would always guard the top player on the other team-this here is where things are diff. there is no GREAT D at the PF position THIS YEAR, from PP, but he is smart, and has had some D lapses this year, but usually he was like Chuck, and very very smart, plays solid D, can score as well, not as good as Mook, like Sefolosha to Harden....On offense Mook can shoot better, and stretch the D more, as he is becoming a threat to shoot the three now, and same with PP, just not as good at it, PP is the better rebounder, but Asik is taking up a lot of boards himself, so again a regress in the analogy again, along with the difference of positions as stated above....Mook off the bench gives you the extra scoring punch, and he gets to play against some starters/more so 2nd units....Mook has played against starters though on him on D as well, see Heat game in the 4th.... So...my long analogy there relates to take the player that is bigger, stronger, maybe IQ smarter, but he may not be the "better player" so to speak, but they do things very well in their own right. Start the vet in PP, bc he is a VET, proven, and has high BBALL IQ, plays better D than Mook for sure, even with PP having a bad season so far on D, that'll change....Then bring in Mook as a swingman/4 man, and use his abilities to score, slash, make plays, etc....He fits a 6th man role very very well so far this season, and then we will hope TJones becomes a man, the beast, that I so said he would be! Look we don't have a great PF, we are hoping to pick one up either through a trade, or develop TJones (which will take time soooo..), or this off season upgrade through Free Agency....PF is the position that isn't our strong suit, C has actually become a great strong suit we have with Asik...he continues to grow, and rebound a lot, so he takes rebounds away from PP so to speak....like Luis when playing with Chuck look-Luis, or Chuck with Yao in early days.... I really don't think Mook's position is 4, and that he is a TRUE 3 guard in all its' meaning...Think EARLY BEFORE YOU KNOW CHICAGO WOULDN'T TRADE THAT ONE GEM IN LUOL DENG, they DIDN'T WANT TO ADD HIM TO THEIR PKG. FOR KOBE BEAN BRYANT!!!~~~(Yes i know i am in caps lock that's the point bc i laugh to this day over this) LUOL DENG....He is very similar to him. Mook can be a Luol Deng, but progress into a better ball player over all I believe he could....
