Because it seems like we're not competing as hard on that end of the court. Offensive stats have been piling up under Sampson, and we look really nice in terms of raw scoring/rebounding/assist numbers. But we are giving everything back. If it's one game, then you can sort of blame it on opponent having a hot night. But so far it's been 3 out of 4 games where we're torched. And the Hornets performed better than their season average

You could be right. We're a young team, and there's bound to be ups and downs with the defensive effort.

exactly , no one in our team able to stop those 3 one on one, so basically we need 6 players to double team them , too bad we can only put 5 on the court at a time

Gasol is the least problem out of those 3.
He gets them a little more than Asik production

Small sample size, and fewer touches than ever... he was an 18 and 10 last year. He still affects the game in other ways. I suspect he's shifting his focus like Bosh does.

Less than 54% shooting? That shouldn't be hard to do, since they averaged 45% before tonight.

As JVG said, defense is about effort, and generally carry from game to game. So far, the Rockets have carried mediocre to bad defense from game to game.

There was no answer for howard. He had his way. Pau was toying with the front court. Kobe had a triple double. They are instituting Dantoni's playbook. I can already see it. Lakers defense is slacking but their combined offensive talents are overwhelming. This year, its either lakers or miami that's going to hold the trophy up. Despite the blowout, I ain't even mad. Was expected.

Yes I think so. And I also think it's pretty funny that we both started our "Defense" threads only one minute apart.. great minds think alike I guess.. lol.

    Repped.

What is the solution for us getting torched by power forwards game after game ? Asik was very average today early on. Dwight got whatever he wanted.

    °

Gasol won't be scoring 18 with Howard and Nash... more towards 15, 16.
A more interesting take is the years those three veterans played vs years our big 4 played.

    Kobe 16 yrs Harden 3
Gasol 11 yrs Lin less than 2 yrs
Howard 8 yrs Omer less then 2 yrs
    Nash 10+yrs

Needless to say who can ball, has more experience
    People are complaining regardless

Lakers played the perfect game...and exposed all Houston coaching staff mistakes...

1 - Why only against Houston games, others players had career-highs (Kobe, Aldrigde, Batum, Damian, Lebron ... etc)?
==> answer:we just play one by one defense, NO double guards when some player is hot, or other defensive strategy, our defense to 3-points shot is zero...

2 - We dont have ANY play to run? ==>
answer: NO, our offense is just pass, pass, pass, when anybody is open so shot...

3 - Why to play the starters so much massive minutes?
==> answer: because we dont use ALL the bench, TJones was awesome tonight, why we never used him before? (except on the detroit game).

4 - Why our rotation IS SO POOR?
==> answers: so our strategy to rest our starters is take off everybody at 5minutes of 2ndQ? and at 5minutes of the 3rdQ? and play just the bench? In all the games? its so easy the others team draw a defensive and offensive set this way...

5 - in all last seconds quarters,we need call a time out and execute ANY play to practice for clutch games...

And much more, im tired to type so much.

Sorry COACHING STAFF , but ALL YOU FAIL BIG.
