No they don't, they only get paid during the season, it stops at the end of the offseason (one of the main reasons for this is trades, owners don't want to be carrying portions of payments for players that weren't theirs, that can amount to millions for some players, the players also have a couple reasons why its preferable)
He'll play his usual half-a-season, put up some good numbers, and teams will be offering the max for him. Maybe even the Rockets ...
it was his other knee though, honestly if his "good" knee gives out while bowling, it's probably a good thing in the end as that sort of weakness could have been a full ACL in an nba game.
And some people said that Yao was the only one made out of glass.. When dealing with the Lakers on blockbuster deals...somehow they always make out like gangbusters...(although this year has pleasantly started as a terrible year for the Lakers)
you lost me after NO, which I agree with btw lol facial expression was priceless, im still a Dru fan all day e'ery day. But like my man said "if i could get hurt bowling, imagine what would have happened if i was dunking
I made a mistake, their payments stop at the end of the post season, not offseason, doh (ie when free agency etc starts). If they get paid thru the offseason, it would have had for example a r****ded case with Dwight where Orlando were on the hook for 2 months of his salary (so about $3m) when he was never going to play a game for him, and when you're a free agent, you'd need to create all sorts of complex indexation, which would just make the taxation structure a nightmare
No. NBA players are actually paid by the games they play/attend. They're not paid in the off-season or for D-League duties. Shaq never rehabbed in the off-season. He would always do it "on company time". That's reasonable enough as there's no time for family as they are living out of suitcases during the NBA schedule.
Then you haven't bowled. How do you figure a guy who is 7' tall gets the ball to the floor? Do you think he throws it standing up straight? You have to bend at the knees repeatedly. He's an idiot for taking part in things he has to know could potentially have an effect on his recovery.
