That actually sounds like how Shaq was, company time, company money. They don't pay the players in the off season so he'd never bother doing that sort of stuff in the offseason
I wonder where's the dude who proposed the "we should sign Bynum thread" in the garm. He should read this and say if he still thinks its a good idea to sign Bynum and trade away Asik lol.
The salaries NBA players receive are for the entire year, offseason included. The only people who get only get paid when they're actually working are professions that get paid by the hour.
Bowling is not an extreme sport but it places a lot of stress on your knees and joint because: 1) You're carrying around an unbalanced weight 2) You'll be getting momentum, get into a sudden stop and then twist your body into weird shape just to throw the ball properly. IIRC Bynum still hasn't played and is undergoing rehab. It isn't as innocent as slipping while carrying a jug of milk, unless your jugs of milk weigh a ton and your throw them around in circles for fun. This is more like playing extreme frisbee when you have a shoulder injury.
OH wow...Morey has figured himself out of another Amare type situation....Signed James Harden, Your welcome....
He didn't turn it down after the first, or maybe even second knee injury, he tried to bait PHX into giving him to us, for pennies on the dollar...That trade, really think there was two, and PHX turned down both, asking for one extra piece each time.... would have been a steal for us, if Amare didn't become the injury prone PF his knees have made him into. Once he got to NYK, and injured again, the NYK I think were shopping him silently, bc everyone thought they were shopping both Melo, and Amare, before of course Lin, and all that....I think Morey prob. may have turned it down then...but it was PHX I believe that "Clutch" wrote about turning down the trade...Not Morey.... Not that I'd have blamed Morey for trading for him back then...Amare was a stud, and prob. still is...just going to be rougher on him...
You put alot of force on your knees when you bowl. Given his weight and the motions that occur at the knee when bowling, this was a very stupid move on his part.
There was only speculation in regards to us wanting Bynum. But it would make ZERO sense. Morey wanted a full physical check-up on Bynum before the trade. If he got it, then there was no way he'd pay for Bynum anywhere near what he'd give up for Howard. And Orlando would be much better off making a straight up deal for Howard. Also, you should've been here long enough to have seen the leaked report regarding the Amare trade. Morey asked for a physical. Phoenix said no. And the deal ended there. So I have no idea what you mean by dodging the bullet, because Morey backed off quickly after seeing Amare's injury problems.
Wow, I forgot all about the Amare trade that wasn't. And now here we are a couple of seasons later, and Amare is punching fire extinguishers and his knees have basically exploded, all while having the most immovable contract in the NBA. Daryl Morey is a smart, smart man.
So where did everyone that was screaming and crying for Bynum go? There were a ton of you in the GARM.
Nope, the Rockets never even expressed interest in Bynum if I recall correctly. The idea may have been fueled by Lakers fans who were encouraged by the busted Pau Gasol trade into thinking that Houston was a good dumping ground for their wildly overpaid or injury-prone bigs, and after news broke that Orlando had concerns about Bynum's injury history.
