The Baylor win is the most unlikely and inexplicable upset that I can ever remember. Oregon just got beat. The Irish will be number one, and Alabama will get back in the title game and beat them. I'm sick of Alabama.

Stanford's the only really good team Oregon played - and if Stanford wins next week, Oregon won't even get a Pac12 title game to play someone good. This closing stretch with Stanford, OSU, and Pac12 title game was the meat of their schedule.

Alabama at least would have wins over LSU and Georgia if they win out.

    This.

Oregon doesn't even have a win close to what Alabama has playing @LSU against then ranked #5 Tigers.

while alabama probably is the best one loss team, it is amazing that saban could have 4 titles with only one undefeated season (and he needed a gimme in the title game to get it). and urban meyer has 2 with a loss in each season. in the sec you get mulligans. even if sagarin actually has the big xii as the top conference right now. hell, that year that oklahoma stole UT's spot in the national title game (2008), florida got to play in the game even though they lost at home to ole miss. but tebow made a speech after the game so even though UT and ou had losses to 11-1 teams at a neutral site and on the road, there was no rematch for us. it wasn't even a consideration that florida would be left out of the game. just like last year there was no consideration that oklahoma state would be in the title game.

it's funny how many good teams mack brown and bob stoops have had and each only has 1 title. i think mack has as many 1-loss-or-fewer seasons as saban. but the path has either not been cleared by other's losing or his qb goes down in the title game or someone ridiculously wins a tiebreaker and he only has 1 title.

If you asked me before the season what teams I didn't want to win the BCS championship, my first choice would have been Notre Dame. Then Alabama.

There is a smidgen of hope ND loses at USC and Alabama to UGA, but it's doubtful.

barkley is hurt for USC, so I don't think it's going to happen.

I wouldn't right it off just yet. ND had some really lucky bounces (and some zebra love) go their way to be undefeated up until this point. A team that almost got beat by Pitt can certainly lose to a Barkley-less USC.

Before today, I thought USC would beat Notre Dame. After watching the UCLA game, USC would lose next week even with Barkley.

How is Les Miles going to get a NC out of this when his team has already lost 2 games?

I agree that there was no excuse to squeak by Kentucky, but Georgia Southern runs the triple option very well and they are going to get their yards. They got about 300 yards rushing against Bama a couple of years ago.

I can understand why most people think it is a foregone conclusion that Alabama is going to win the SEC Championship Game but I like Georgia's chances. Whoever is going to win the SEC will butt rape Notre Dame.

Isn't college football great? Most exciting [US] sport to watch. It's truly sport's greatest theater.

Why? Because we're on an NBA message board complaining about teams with little connection to anything Houston-related.

Oregon's still got a decent title shot, as does...the Gators!

Oregon couldn't score more than 14 points at home.

K-State didn't even show up to play.

    Alabama wins again.

You'd think Les Miles just won the Battle of Ardennes after that press conference.

I thought it was all different this year? New year, same old story of Chip Kelly's high-profile spread grinding to a halt against a pro-style opponent. This time at home! Unless I'm missing something, they don't have a single win over a team better than 7-4. Maybe one year people won't fall for these frauds.

Go Georgia! Seriously, the last thing I want is Bama in the title game again. I have nothing against Notre Dame and I think it's better for college football if their play on the field finally matches up to the hype. It's been a while since those 2 things matched.

If a SEC team has to be in the title game, I'll take anyone other than Bama, LSU and Fla.
