White needs to become more educated. He could buy another Royce hyphy bus for everyday he misses.

He obviously has this "thing" that the Rockets must do to make him happy. Perhaps several "things". But he keeps whatever his specific agenda is hidden and makes these ambiguous and vague hints like the Rockets organization from top to bottom needs not only to become overnight experts on mental illness but mind-read White's specific needs as well.

I read on someones column that he is suppose to meet with Morey Monday. Not sure I really believe it, but hopefully it happens and something concrete happens one way or the other.

If the Monday Morey meet doesn't settle this, enough already: let him go.

I think it's time clutch change: "Royce White showing a lot of promise" to: "Royce White see ya later"

Personally...im with Morey on this one...fine him till the Rockets recoup at least 50-75% of salary...and if nothing has changed...cut him...the best way to approach this garabage

We should trade for Ron Artest. Ron can mentor Royce on how to succeed in the NBA while mentally ill. Ron is also funny and plays defense.

Ron would kill Royce on day 3, after royce tells him to "get educated" for the 30th time.

Royce reminds me of the girlfriend who gets mad at you but doesn't tell you why. And it turns out to be something so small and dumb.

About 5 years from now you will her people say a player is qualified under the:

    "Royce White rights"

Basically a new NBA welfare system for players who are drafted but unable to work because of there disabilities.

It all started here folks and we're witnessing history in the making.

I'm very optimistic the @HoustonRockets and I can work this out, it may be HARD, it make take TIme, but it can be done. #Hopeful

    -----

    It's not "HARD":

    1) You apologize
    2) You actually go to work
    3) You accept the PROTOCOL your employer (who pays you TONS of money) establishes and EDUCATE yourself on what it means to be a professional
    4) When you believe you are unable to go to work, you meet with a real expert for mental health, as assigned to you by the Rockets
    5) You stop making asinine tweets which slander your employer.

That's all the Rockets and we, as, fans, are asking for.

I'm actually concerned that the Rockets will give in to some ridiculous demand and make White feel legitimized after all this complete and utter unreasonable BS he's pulled.

We're not a mental health care clinic or an ego factory, we're a basketball organization. We can make concessions, but the way he's behaving makes me feel there's so many deeper issues with him that all we're doing is making the fire bigger if we arbitrarily agree to his demands without suitable punishment.

There is nothing to work out from the Rockets perspective. Its just the Rockets willingness to still allow Royce to be on their team when he snaps out of his manic state. That would be the definition of "working it out."

The Rockets must stand firm, but also not give up on him. There needs to be clear definitions from this point on if there hasn't been those before. When Royce goes manic like this last week, you just fine him when he misses, and give him the option to end the relationship. It just can't be the Rockets this soon.

They signed up for a 2 year agreement. If the relationship is going to end, its gotta be on Royce's terms, but that doesn't mean the Rockets have to lend special treatment beyond whats covered in The Americans with Disability Act or similar legalities they are supposed to adhere to.

I agree with you. This is what I said before the Rockets gave in with respect to the bus issue. White needs firm limits set for him and he needs to decide if he can abide by them or not. Any further negotiation that the Rockets do would not be in their best interest. Their goals should be (a) to stay within their legal limits, (b) to set firm boundaries with White, and (c) to make it clear to White that he will have to apologize to the team, the players, and the fans for his behavior so he could have any hope of getting along with his team after this debacle.

No I completely agree with everything you said. I'm just worried Royce is going to continue being unreasonable-- his behavior so far certainly has been. I'm really happy with the way the Rockets have handled it so far.

And this thing about "manic state," again, I feel like Royce has other problems like unhealthy narcissism that make me more concerned that we have to draw the line, and you've mentioned where that line should be.

Drawing the line isn't about narcissism- it's about his anxiety disorder. Avoidance is a symptom of all anxiety disorders and White has taken that to an extreme. I hypothesize the reason his avoidance has gotten so severe is that they allowed him to do that at Iowa State and he has avoided getting real treatment for his problems. His only chance at getting better is for someone to make avoidance not possible. As strange as it seems, the Rockets are his last chance at achieving good mental health, but only if they set firm limits.

This has long gone past the "let Morey figure it out" stage. Move on people, nothing left to comment on right now.

I agree with this, but C. might not be able to happen from a negotiation standpoint(if they can't work it out). If they tell him to do C. then there has to be some sort of "or else" repercussion, and they can't use the 15K fine penalty for not apologizing. I think they have to make sure that whatever happens, its Royce's decision, not them showing their cards on what they are preferring.
