Is it really a molehill? That's like someone saying telling you that slavery is just an accident. Lin might not even be in the NBA, if it weren't for the Knicks playing him fortuitously before the cut deadline last year.
On the contrary, I think we've had a few months now to get a very thorough idea of what Jeremy Lin fans are like. Appreciate the constant updates on every nuanced aspect of that though, as well as your tireless attempts to read racial bias into every comment and coaching decision, including something like Jeremy Lin playing for 36 minutes in one game of basketball instead of 40. Google the term "race-baiting" and get back with me.
See why are Asian fans always so over dramatic? I know we Asians like drama shows and eat stuff like that up but jeez.
redlawn, if this thread started out as " all is not well among Houston's fans" it will still have the same merit. Get my drift pal? You're a solid poster here but I think if CF can cut down on this whole race topic coming up everyday associated with Jeremy Lin, GARM could be a productive basketball discussion site again.
it is disgusting and appalling, indeed. I think real fans of any sport want to see the game played at the highest level, with the best players playing. it's a pretty simple philosophy that transcends many sports. when fans wish injuries upon players, shows 2 things; first, they are not a true fan in the sense that they let their emotions overhaul what is real and what isn't. we call this being delusional. secondly, taking the fan aspect away & wishing injuries upon another human being is morally and mentally wrong. we call this being a psychopath. things are getting tense around in the ole' ClutchFans, indeed.
opposing teams now have a better handle on defending Lin, always making him go to his left, and converging on him at the rim. It's going to take some time for Lin to adjust, and improve his game. This is not the coaches' fault or racism. It's the nature of the NBA. I haven't heard Lin make any complaints. Only unreasonable fans.
No one's wishing for any player to have an injury (if you are thinking this way sorry as I can't help you in that department)....this is all about respect. The guy has proven his worth at every step of the way, but still left at the bench. To say the Lin's fan base is the worst in the world....now that does have a more racist conotation.... What every fans want to see is to have their player having the potential to play their game....plain and simple!
Like I said before, your desire to grossly generalize all Lin fans is not only unwarranted, but incorrect. Your simplistic view of Jeremy Lin fans is, quite frankly, false.
No. Actually, race and sports have history since the beginning of time. Take a look at our major sports....basketball, nba...look at the history...then reverse that with what Larry Bird did when he got into the league. You can hate a player, but hating a player simple because of their skin color is just sad.
It's dramatic to point out that Lin was days away from getting cut from the NBA? Then ESPN, TNT, newspapers around the world covering Jeremy Lin last year most be overly-dramatic. Even if we take the most pessimistic Jeremy Lin hater who calls Lin a below average point guard. Guess what? It still presupposes the fact that Lin belongs in the NBA.
dude do you get why you have a negative rep? NO IT'S NOT OK TO HATE A PLAYER!! do you even know what the word hate means??!! if you hate someone who is, in no way directly effecting the health, safety or well being of you or your family/ loved ones, than you got issues bro. it's a game. if you really hate people you're never going to meet than you need to seek some professional help. talk to someone. going through life with hatred is no way to live.
LOL it's official guys 11/17/12, another new thread about racism, Jeremy Lin, Asian etc. has been created in the the GARM. The new hangout really, Awesome!
redlawn, I don't think you should try to speak for all of "Houston's Asian Fans". The title of this thread should be "All is not well with redlawn"
Perhaps you missed this thread. (which recently got moved to Feedback) http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=229409
No, it's over dramatic to compare it to slavery. I think you just need to find new hobbies Redlawn imo. Too much energy and time invested in Lin making you get too emotional. Being an obsess fan is not healthy and can lead to some crazy stuff like following them back to their house. Until they actually find evidence in Sampsons house of him being a racist or him saying racist things, then the argument of not playing lin in ot because of race is absurd. Perfectly fine explanation on why he decided to go with TD.
Agreed 100 %. redlawn is race-baiting. Just like pgabriel, he starts a thread acting as if you have to be Asian to be a Jeremy Lin fan, and as if the only reason you would be a Jeremy Lin fan could be that you are Asian, and as if you cannot be a Rockets fan first, just because you are Asian. We don't need posters and threads like that. We are Rockets fans. We want our starting PG to do well.
