The times the Blazers came back were mostly when Lin was sitting.

And Lin didn't play the entire last 4:05 of the 4th quarter, he was benched multiple times. He didn't even come in on that last stretch until about 2 mins left.

Prior to Lin being benched in the 4th, Lillard was 3/8 shooting. TD made multiple mistakes going under screens giving Lillard wide open jumpers.... multiple scores in less than 2 mins.

By the time Lin was put back in, Lillard was red hot. The last score he made was a fully contested fade away jumper... impossible to stop without fouling unless you can get enough height to block.

Really, it's sad how bad TD was in terms of Defense compared to Lin. And oh yah, in the 4th quarter Lin posted up a big and forced a TO too... blocked Batum on another shot, racked up rebounds, etc, etc.

It's amazing how people were blaming Lin for points scored when LIN WAS ON THE BENCH.

    The other good part

Lin is proving that he can make the team better by being the primary playmaker and not sitting in the corner waiting for spot-up 3s. This is regardless of what Sampson thinks about his left hand or whether the priority to put in a PnR play for him is high or low (despite the synergy and other stats already loudly saying so).

Lin will eventually prove that he is a better defender than Douglas or most PGs in the league.

The coaches will get around to it. Slowly, but surely.

They're already letting him handle the ball.

The other thing - when Jeremy Lin is playmaking or simply just balling, it is infectious not only on his teammates, but also on the fans. The offense looks beautiful, and those look-ahead fast-break passes a thing of beauty.

Morey hitched his ride to a guy that had a good month of basketball in his career. There were always going to be up's and downs.

The positives on this team are a lot of the long term pieces to a contender are in place. You have the all star shooting guard in Harden, a well rounded small forward in Parsons, and a paint protector/elite rebounder in Asik. Either Lin is the answer at the point or they look to upgrade there as well as at PF to put the finishing touches on this team.

Right now, if I'm Morey, I'm figuring out how to get one of Al Horford, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, or Josh Smith(my least favorite option) to be the low post scorer next to Asik.

Did you watched the game? He held it down for 3 quarters, then Lillard torched everyone regardless in the 4th and OT.

    Wrong again. Lilard made 2 FT's then a 3-pointer. Leonard made 2 FT's. Lilard made 2 FT's, then two 2-pointers.

Lin needs to be in OT, not only when he is playing well but because he needs to learn from these situations. He needs to be the primary ball handler when the game is on the line and this is not a disrepect to harden - he is a much better spot up shooter than Lin.

While all your points are valid, I really think Sampson has no respect for LIn as a player - and will continue to use him this way. Really demoralizing for me. I wonder how bad Jeremy is feeling getting no confidence from his own coach.

You're naive if you think race has nothing to do with it. Lin IS overrated, and players do play harder against him because they don't want to be humiliated. At this point, it's extra baggage attached to an otherwise average to above average player.

I do agree with what Bull was saying... Let Lin run more P&R to get Harden some open looks. Harden can play off the ball, we just haven't let him much!

This over and over again. And just the utterly blind announcers; I swear they're as taken by TD's armwaving as Sampson was or something.

Can we not bring up the race card? It just sounds pathetic.

They either need to be fully confident in Lin to lead this team, or relegate him to bench-dom/trade-dom. There can't be a middle ground to this. He's in too pivotal a position to just half-ass it. But I agree, we definitely need non-soft Power forward that can excel at the Pick & Roll.

Lin is really being under-utilized by Rox coaching. If anyone watched his NYK games last year, he has a big upside on offense, if utilized better (like D'Antoni did). He drew alot of fouls off of high pick & roll plays, run specifically for him. Those plays put alot of pressure on the other team's guards. Currently he is forced to look for shots. He is not CP3, Westbrook, Deron Williams, or any of those elite PGs. But that doesn't mean he can't score. Coaching needs to learn from D'Antoni and how he put Lin in a situation that took pressure off of his own team, and created pressure for the other team's guards.

Lin is only getting 8 or 10 shots a game. But he is excelling on the other stats. In fact, his rebounds are up from last year, his assists are up from last year, his steals are up from last year (4th in the league), and his TOs are down from last year.

It's a shame Rox coaching is not using him to full potential. Just sad.

Yeah man, thanks for reading my post and agreeing. I am so mad at what's going on, not because we're losing. But it's HOW we're losing.

I agree with you as well........ we signed him to be "THE" PG of the Rockets for the what, next 4+ years and we are benching him.
