The Amizing Spider-man (2012) 6.5/10 It felt like I had seen this plot 100 times. Not original at all, very similar to Sam Raimi's Spider-man from just a few years back. Incredibly dissapointing.
Moonrise Kingdom - 6/10. I'm probably giving it an extra point for the soundtrack. The movie was disappointing. My expectations were high, which almost always ruins a movie for me.
Sounds like the problem is you... lol. I haven't seen the movie actually and have high expectations for it too. Hopefully it will deliver for me.
You're probably right. The Royal Tennenbaums set a high bar for Mr Anderson to live up to. Most people seem to like Moonrise Kingdom. It isn't without merit, but the story didn't really do it for me.
I finally saw it this last weekend and enjoyed it....it helped I was watching it with an 8 year old and a 12 year old, probably.
By choice or forced to go along with the sig other? By the way, if you're male there is only one correct answer.....
Field of Dreams... 9/10 "Dad, wanna have a catch?" Proceed to cry like a baby. Costner is not a great actor by any means but he is probably the best actor in baseball movies. Bull Durham For Love of the Game Field of Dreams Movie sin: Field of Dreams 2 (Are you kidding me?!) How dare he!
The Great Happiness Space A lot more interesting than I thought it would be. These guys are basically prostitutes, but they're prostituting themselves emotionally rather than physically. It gets pretty intense in the last half/third or so, when some of the guys start talking about how much they hate some of their clients, even as they're acting like they love them. FWIW, there was a season 7 episode of CSI that was pretty clearly based on this documentary. 8.5/10
Recently on an overseas flight... watched: The Dark Knight Rises-9.5/10 The Avengers-7.5/10...probably because I watched it right after TDKR, and it was much more shallow Ted-6/10. Sad that every funny part (literally) was in the trailer...with the exception of the blow with Flash Gordon, which was funny 21 Jumpstreet-8/10. Much funnier than I expected
My favorite Wes Anderson movie has always been The Life Aquatic. Probably in my top 10 of all-time favorite movies.
Worked the night shift the past weekend, not much going on so had a lot of free time. Read half of Life of Pi, and watched some movies. Now, remember, my choice was limited to what was at the Redbox (minus Munich). Munich - 8.5/10 Amazing Spiderman - 6/10 Madagascar 3 - 6/10 Hunger Games - 7/10 Wrath of the Titans - 4.5/10 Sherlock Holmes - 6.5/10
