^ This. We have Uverse, and before that had DirecTV. Kept Comcast internet through all of it. Their TV service can die in a fire. Garbage. No whole home DVR service = I won't be your customer.
Ask CertifiedTroll about Comcast internet. He's having the technician visit for the fifth time this weekend... It's only up about 60% of the time.
I'm no Comcast employee but I have no complaints. Even setup of the cable card through media center was painless. Haven't had connections issues outside of when they were doing upgrades. I've got so used to the 50mb extreme tier that I kinda want to try 100mb. Seeing upwards of 4.5mb/s during torrents isn't unusual. Cable providers are like cell providers.. everyone's got a different experience.
yup I have had TW\Comcast internet since 99 and I can count the number of times I had issues with their internet on one hand. The business line I had was even better, one issue in all the years I had a static line. On the other hand, the tv service blows. Yall have heard all the normal reasons, but my biggest issue with them was the cost. When I switched to Direct two years ago, it reduced my cable bill by half...even with all the discounts expiring, Im still paying 50 less than what Comcast cost me.
True.. luckily I split the bill otherwise I don't think I'd pay $200+ for 50mb tier and basic digital hd. It's a good thing the channels I mainly watch are on basic. History, Discovery, Espn, Amc, etc. I don't need the movie channels since most series are available on Amazon prime or other "outlets"
Lulz...serious? if so, imagine in this scenario we have two hands, one hand would be comcast internet service, the other hand would be comcast cable tv. I addressed both hands in that post.
LOL, this guy has 4 posts - all in the comcast thread....hmmmm.... Anyway, whether or not comcast has good customer service isn't really the point of this thread. The point is you shouldn't have to switch cable companies just to watch your hometown basketball team. Now that we kind of suck again, I'm caring less and less about this situation. That's kind of sad. I'd watch if I could, but I can't. And every day that passes, I care less about it.
we need to reinvoke the old NBA add's from the lockout prior to this one, and have several unathletic rockets fans play a crappy pickup game in a driveway while the red rowdy's cheer on. NBA Basketball - when it's on Comcast it's FANtastic <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EqCXgUXy1n8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Exactly how I feel and probably the majority of everyone else. I'm starting to care less about the rockets the longer this drags on.
I'm glad we're finally rebuilding (I've been screaming about it for 3 years) so I don't mind the losing. I was actually really looking forward to watching more games this year now that we seem to finally have a long-term plan. But....since I have Dish.....I can't. And no one seems to care enough to do anything meaningful about it. So as a result...my care-o-meter is going down a little with every game I miss. Just wanted to be clear that it has nothing to do with us losing. It has everything to do with the fact that, well, I can't watch the games.
Not comparing my degree of fandom with anyone else's, but if you *really* want to see them, they are there and easy to get. I havent missed a game yet due to this, and I have Direct. The video quality from the torrent download looks great(it's in HD) and it normally only takes me a couple of hours to get it. That said, I do hate having to wait till the next day to watch them, but I'm not allowing a bunch of corporate dipwads to keep me from watching my team.
