Does anyone have this phone?? The Stache is thinking about upgrading to it in the next week...I currently have a Galaxy Nexus...but this thing just looks SWEET. (Verizon carrier here) The Metro/Modern UI is fantastic plus it marries well with my Windows 8 desk/ultrabook experience...but again I would rather know what some of your hands on testimonials are. So cfNET any one have an opinion on this phone?
same boat here. current gnex user and paying retail for the red 8x. toyed around with the blue/purple one @ at&t and loved the design and the way it felt in hand (cue swoly). should arrive on 21st (red one available online only). vzw is effing with the orders (pushing back dates for those that didn't order by a certain time), so you may want to check store availability for blue/black 8xs.
I was split between the 8x and the Lumia 920. I went with the 920 because of the screen, but the 8x is a sexy beast. I think you can't go wrong either way...
I've got a Nokia 920 so can't speak about the 8X, but can speak for how really cool WP8 is. Really makes my wifes Iphone 5 look and feel like a toy.
yah. it is indeed sexy and loud (color) as hell. went from webos to android, back to webos, back to android, and now to windows phone. i'm sure i'll miss gapps integration (quite a bit actually), but wp is a beaut. i go through a phone pretty much every six months or so (not as bad as scionxa though. lol).
Same here. I love having a family plan, I just use their upgrades and then send down my old phones. Before WP, I was a big iPhone supporter and lover. I still like iOS, it just looks dated to me. It's flat, it's 2D, there is zero dynamic to it. I love WP. Sometimes you don't even have to open an app to know or see what you wanted out of said app. Microsoft did something neither google nor apple could do. Instead of a phone being about the apps you run, it's just about you. That's big. Why wouldn't you want a phone specially built for you? Who could willingly look at it 100% customized to their liking and still say no? My surface is red, my lumia is red, both have Rockets backgrounds (sometimes I switch it to wildcats or ducks) and both have red tiles. It embodies me in those ways and so so many more. People who don't buy into this platform just might not like themselves/their lives I guess...
I've calmed down lately but damn do I want to cheat on Android with WP8 . Nexus 4 is my next but I'm looking at the 8x as well. Windows 8 is pretty cool but I'm just worried about the apps their marketplace has. I need NBA game time lol
I just got the 8x and finished customizing it....amazing phone. Really love it. AM now fully converted to the "Gates" of Heaven.
is there any way to turn on haptic feedback for the on screen keyboard? Or to stop the screen from turning on during a text/notification?
