It's seems that Asik never finishes the fast-break when he has his defenders trailing him from behind.. Either he gets it block or he'll just brick the shot... Asik my man you gotta dunk that ****...

Do it like Tyson Chandler, go up and dunk the ball hard or get fouled doing it. Win win.

Parsons as well has had a ton of bad plays in transition finishing at the rim & handling the ball. Pattrick Patterson too.

yes i dont know why these big guys don't dunk more. Is it because it hurts your wrist? You would think it would be much more effective than laying it up. IT was so frustrating to see when they miss sure points

    Ok. I believe you.
So if Lin recovery from knee injury, his stats will rise to:
    15/20 30 pts(with no ft), 4 blocks, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, 15 assists per game?

I suspect it's habit more than anything else. He's not used to dunking alot, so it wasn't his first instinct.

Remember those earlier games when he didn't dunk at all? Then 2 games ago he started dunking. Last game he dunked significantly more. And tonight's game he dunked a TON more.

Aside from the Asik hasn't developed his body for a heavily offensive game. He still lacks muscle mass, upper body strength and grip strength. That's why he just barely makes it over the rim, his shots get altered, and he gets stripped so often.

The upside is that with targetted work outs, strength training, and improved ball grip, those will all get better.

The downside is that it will take time.

I wouldn't be surprised if by next season he adds several inches to his vertical and he becomes much harder to strip/stop.

Like all of our players, he just needs time.

He's probably lost out there because there aren't many, if any, plays for him, not to mention the fact that his shots just aren't falling (remember, this is the guy who shot fearlessly over the likes of Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki just a few months ago).

In a half-court set, he's being asked to either catch-and-shoot 3pt shots, or create his own shot without a PNR.

Lin isn't confident in either of those aspects of his game, hence his passivity.

If we didnt have that massive 2nd quarter we would have lost this game for sure. They outscored us in the remaining 3 quarters. 51-36 in the 2nd half.

    Lucky win.

There are wins and losses. No such thing as "lucky" in either.

Miami beat us by 3. Was that "lucky"?
How about our other losses that were squeakers?

The game is won and lost on the dozens of plays over 48 minutes, and as the commentators love to say, basketball is a game of runs.

Our runs were just bigger than their runs.

If he only plays for God as he claims then what the heck is he so scared about? Maybe he went with Harden to a strip club and got forced into a lap dance... And has been repenting ever since, fearing the wrath of the almighty on and off the court. How else would you explain the airball?

Parsons, Parsons, and Delfino have more shot attempts or just as much as Lin. Hell, even Morris takes more shots some games. Lin takes like 5-10 max a game, he took 15+ avg as a 3rd option in NY behind Amare/Melo. There's no reason there's not enough shots to go around if Lin is really a stud. If this is the case, it's on the coaching. Because Lin sitting on the 3 point line is not going to work. We ain't talking about Melo/Amare, proven (super)stars after being in the league for years, we're talking Lin being a 5th/6th option behind scrubs.

And Mchale's system looks like ****. He needs to be fired asap, such a incompetent coach. What does he have to show for coaching besides losing and using other experienced coach's system(Adelman)? A guy who got his job purely off his name, never assistant coached for any of the high profile coaches like Popovich(like Doc Rivers and many others did, even Mike Brown).

High screen and rolls, ISOs, and ultimately a live and die by the 3 system when our players aren't good 3 point shooters(takes 30 3's a game, one of the worst in league at making 3's). Obvious coaching problem.

How's lin shooting in ISO's this season? I don't think he has even scored 1 basket in that situation. Complete 180 from last season, I hope that changes as the season goes on.

He rarely go iso this season, even the sample size is too small to stats consideration.

Sampson talked about Lin's role (link: http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/brand-new-day):

"As the season goes on, we’d like to get Jeremy more involved in pick-and-rolls. Teams jump on him and force him to his left hand a lot and Jeremy is not as effective going left as he is going right. But as individual development he’s got to continue to work on that left hand so we can play pick-and-roll with him to different sides of the floor." -- Sampson

Every time Sampson talks about Lin it's to criticize one aspect of his game or another, to provide excuses for why he won't let him play.

So far he's criticized... Lin's athleticism, his defensive match-ups, his transition play, his playmaking, and now his going left. It's like SAS wearing a Sampson mask.

I don't think Lin will ever play anywhere near his potential with a coach like Sampson who's only looking to put him down, not encourage him or looking to get the best out of him.
