Yeah no kidding. Maybe he should just stop working on offense and become a Battier or something, a glue guy utility hustle player that camps in the corner.

The problem is Lin hasnt been running the team, James Harden has despite having a much lower AST rate while having a much higher usage rate. He's ranked 3rd among all guards at 27.5USG.

It's rather ridiculous to ignore a players well acknowledged strength and put this player in a situation where he never felt comfortable. Rockets acquired Lin so he can run the point, not anything else.

Jason Kidd? lets not go there.

OJ Mayo has always been a good scorer. Memphis was just a better team with Tony Allen starting over him. He's getting a lot more freedom on a Dallas team who only has Dirk and an over the hill VC.

Nash was an all-star PG before he went to Phoenix. D'antoni helped splurge his stats to give him 2 MVPs.

If a coach allows a player to take 20 shots he'll get his numbers, but it's a team sport. You have to find a way to contribute within the offense.

LOL, you aint kiddin.... I mean he's gettin blocks/steals/deflections/man to man coverage he's solid/ sometime that help defense needs a little work and he'll give up the 3 but so far his defense is stellar.... As long as the Rockets keep winning he could score -10 for all I care...

What is Jeremy Lin's strength at this point on offense.

He ran the offense in the preseason and didn't show anything spectacular. Like someone mentioned, we don't have a Tyson Chandler or Amare for him to lob and bounce pass to.

As of now he's been spectacular on defense, but can literally only run fast breaks on offense.

He has been missing easy layups too. His coordination isn't as good as he was. I think he is trying to improve his stamina and regain his strength after the surgery.

Actually, what Mark Cuban said is that in the right system with the right personnel, he could be another Steve Nash.

    http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/2012/10/11101.html/

There is a HUGE difference between saying he needs the right system/roster to be good, and saying that he needs the right system/roster to be STEVE FREAKING NASH.

MDA knows PG's about as well as anyone. So does Magic Johnson and Bob Cousy. They've been very high on Lin's upside potential. That in itself is impressive as heck.

Now, do I think he could become Steve Nash? Probably not. The odds are stacked monumentally against him.

However... given his BBIQ, I can't rule it completely out. Even if it's a very small chance, I have a hard time naming more than a handful of PG's in the entire league that could evolve to that level.

That is a significant part of what I find fascinating about Jeremy Lin. Not the Jeremy Lin of Linsanity, or the Jeremy Lin of today... but what he could potentially become in the Future.

As for the current system and roster, remember that it is FAR from complete. They've barely begun to institute the offense. And the roster is FAR from it's final form. Morey is still looking to make trades.

We could be in a very, VERY different place in 2, 3 or 4 years...

At least Lin doesn't have an ego/attitude problem

If Ariza was in Lin's position he would chuck up every single shot every time he touches the ball.

    You bring up Jason Kidd.

You know what would've happened if he had been used as a spot-up 3pt shooter when he was 24?

    Disaster.

It took Kidd his entire career to become an outside threat.

He ran the offense about 40% of the time in the first two games with James Harden or have you forgotten? LOL after the second game people were calling us the best back court in the NBA.

He was franchise-PG level during those two weeks. If you were only going by those 2 weeks, you'd pay a lot more than $8mil.

But you can't deny he still played better in pre season than he did recently.

He hasnt showed much this season and I doubt we would see much more in the near future unless any dramtical change in terms of team strategy. James Harden will be the main ball handler and Lin will most likely be camping in the corner for the spot up 3.

I hate to say this but lets give him and the team more than 8 games before making any judgement, because if 25 games of sensation wasnt enough to judge him, 8 games shoudnt be either. Lin's coming off a major injury, has not played basketball for almost 6 months, blah blah blah. I know you know that, lets be patient and watch them grow.

Yes, he is totally different this year in offense, hope he takes this chance to work out his 3's ...but meanwhile, he gives up what he was good at last year to adjust to this new sytem, give him some credit

Pretty much what I think as well. Hopefully the coaching staff will stop relegating him to a spot-up shooter and tailor more of the offense to is strengths.

Well I think this is good for Lin in the long term because it forces him to correct his shooting woes. If he keeps on shooting like that he has no business being an NBA starter. He wasn't like this last year though. Don't know what happened. At least we won.

Stop your stupid imagination and drama. If what you said was true, I'm sure the game announcers would at least picked that up and mentioned it on the air, they didn't mention any of them, none what soever.

Players shout to each other on the court all the time to communicate on offense or defense, it's a good thing. You should worry if they are not shouting and communicating.

So before you want to draw some eyeballs to your stupid comments, how about learn some basic basketball knowledge?

Jeremy Lin's had 3 different coaches in the last 8.5 months, 4 if you count Sampson.

And this is a guy who hasn't even started 40 games as an NBA PG.

    Be patient.
