Honestly, I wouldn't be remotely worried until late December or the New Year.

I expect he'll improve over the next month, with some inconsistent shooting performances. I suspect his shooting will be in form not too long after that.

Which in terms of timing is perfect if you want to be ready for the playoffs... alot of basketball is peaking at the right time.

By then, I expect nearly all the offensive sets to be sorted, hopefully including extensive screens and multi-layered picks.

I would also think that by that point Asik's hands will be alot more reliable, as well as his confidence at the rim.

General team passing should look alot better, and the turnovers should be fairly low. Our turnovers were alot lower for our second game in a row. So, we're already starting to see the seeds in play.

We have to be patient. Alot of the competition have had the bulk of their rosters together for YEARS. These guys are coming out of the gate with a handful of games and practices.

Yet we're still .500 ... that's something to chew on.

Yes your right. Harden & Parsons need to understand that in the fast break it is easier to defend the dribble than the pass. Lin always passes in transition I never see him dribble. Arthur what is your interpretation of the lack of picks/screens being set for Lin. Don't you find it odd that guys aren't doing that for him?

And he also needs those upper-body strength to beat his man off.

As always, love reading your synopsis. Please clarify this because it was something "Doc" said about Jeremy's jumpshot. If I remember correctly, he said that Jeremy is a right handed shooter, so doing a jump shot, he would push off with his left leg. His left leg would catapult him into the jumpshot. Is this true? If his left knee is still bothering him, then it would throw his entire mechanics off.

Actually, someone on another site noticed this. If you watch Geraldd's vid of the Miami game, Lin seem to touch his left knee/thigh when he came down from the layup but at the last minute decided to pass. Luckily, 2Pat took it and made a 2. It's approximately 3:08 into the vid. I could be wrong but I kept re-watching it. He can't be 100% if his left knee is constantly being iced when he's on the bench.

So it seems like to me that you are not worried about the way Lin is being utilized in the current offensive scheme, that Lin will find away to adopt to it. I feel like as long as Lin does not become the primary ball handler, his game will suffer and he will never find his offensive rhythm. Thoughts?

Are you saying that Lin is a one-dimensional player that is useless witout the ball?

if he is still not 100% as you have observed, should he even be playing? How can he expect to get better with the grueling NBA schedule? wouldn't his knee get worse as the season goes on?

Lorenzo where the hell did I say that?
No one mentioned even Linsanity 2.0 . Im not expecting him to be the team's #1 option and score 38 on the Lakers again. I said give him the green light to orchestrate offense, play PG, his natural position, not just have him camp in 3 pt line the entire game to airball and brick more 3's.

I will agree with you that Parsons shouldn't be that guy. He is not a good ballhandler. Harden will get better.

The issue I have with Lin is that he doesn't seem to have the instinct to run hard on the break unless he has a completely open lane to the basket. He paces himself too much sometimes.

No, I actually think very high of Lin ..

however, like some of other posters here, I feel like Lin's game and hence his confidence on the offensive end is suffering because he is not being utilized the right way.

He was never a great shooter to begin with. And as long as they continue with him camping out in the corner and watching Harden to initiate play, his game will just suffer like today. He was pretty useless on the offensive end.

He runs hard on the break when he is trying to dish the ball off to his teammates as well. But you are right he prefers to read the defense & then react. He takes what the defense gives him & it seems like when running the break sometimes he is able to pick up quickly what the defense gives him other times he is not he paces himself.

He could do that if he had a good stroke.

    Woodson was good for Lin....
Dantoni may have given Lin his break but irresponsibly overuse Lin, which ultimately end up with the knee injury.. Much as I enjoyed Linsanity, I prefers Lin's games under Woodson.. Woodson's way was better for Lin long-term and allowed him to pay more attention to his deficiencies..

I'm wondering if this is why the coaches are sitting him periodically and icing his knee. Maybe their "saving" him for the duration for the long season. All this is speculation on my part. This is almost a catch-22 situation because if he's not out there, how in the world is he going to improve offensively in game situations.

Man i wish half of the posters were banned. The contracts given lin harden asik has the intentions that they'll be our core. That will not change unless they trade one of them which will not likely happen anytime soon.

Be patient with the entire team and just watch them a bit longer before your spazz posts. Every year ive been in the emotional roller coaster of hoping to be .500 by the new year. Seems we're in the same situation after a major roster overhaul, so not bad.

The best part is this team plays hard. the plays might not be flowing but they are putting in the effort on both ends give all of them credit you bum posters.
