Problem is Jeremy Lin just isn't a great offensive player. There's only one thing he's above average at and that's leading a fast break. When he's in the halfcourt, he's mediocre because he can't shoot and he can't attack consistently.
I'm not the biggest Jeremy Lin fan and I still feel as if Les brought him to fill his own pocket up. But I have to give Lin credit.. He's played his butt off. Lin is not a superstar and for people to but him on that pedestal is not right for Lin. Lin is a decent player that is leading the Rockets as their pg and right now he's doing an ok job. So hopefully people will see him and judge him for who he is and not for what they want him to be. T_Man
Please tell me how he's having a bad performance slump and what performance numbers are you basing this off of? T_Man
Lin must be entering the 3 pt contest at the All-Star game because I cannot understand why someone who is not good at making 3's is taking so many. He should consider taking perimeter shots but clearly the NBA 3 is just outside his range.
His fans think he's on the same level as the likes of Kyrie, Wall & Rubio They are actually the ones putting Lin under unnecessary pressure.
I think it's obvious that the coaches are telling him to keep shooting because they want him to develop a spot-up shot. Think about it. He's not making a lot of 3pters (better % than Harden, though), but he still puts up about 4 a game. The coach would've told him to cut it out if they didn't want him to shoot.
Under D'Antoni. He put up respectable starter numbers with Woodson. If he can consistently put up Woodson numbers by the end of the season, the Rockets will have gotten a good deal. He's only 24 too.
Can you believe I was thinking Woodson numbers were going to be his floor before the season started?... Oh how wrong I was.
Uh, there's still 90% of the season left to play. Wait, let's just call the season now: Lakers will get the #1 lottery pick, and the Knicks will win the championship.
I find this funny because last year he was at his best in the half court & at his worse in transition. Right now it is the complete opposite, in transition he is amazing & in the half court his shots just don't fall. And last year he was at his best offensively & not as good defensively & right now it is the total opposite. Really find it all odd.
Harden was yelling at him for most of the second half getting really frustrated and Lin kept doing things that Harden didn't want him to do. It was frustrating to watch Jeremy tonight, he was clearly overmatched on the floor.
Rubio should not be included in this. He's a 3rd-tier PG, if Kyrie/Wall are 2nd tier. If Rubio was forced in the same position as Lin, he would be scrub of the year. Rubio is over hyped, and he's one of the worst shooters in the league who is allowed to have playing time(35% FG avg). Make him spot up 3's and defer to Harden, and oh, the horror that arises
I don't think it's fair to include Jeremy's time in NY when talking about him now. Last year he was a surprise and teams didn't know who he was. He was fortunate to be playing for D'antoni where all he had to do was run a PnR and kick it to shooters. Bet you didn't know Chris Duhon averaged 11 pts and 7 assists under D'antoni. Yea Chris freakin Duhon! His system inflates PG stats. Point is we have to judge Jeremy how he is now, and as of right now I see a mediocre PG in the half court. - No jumper - No floater (surprisingly) He CAN attack the basket but has mediocre finishing. The only above average thing he does is leading a fast break where he can make a nice pass or get to the rim. Thats his best skill. Everything else he is just okay at, but of course he plays hard all the time.
