Interesting talk about the bigs not helping with Pnr enough, or not quality ones at least. It is mystifying how different things look since the first two games on the offensive end. Another thought: maybe Lin is expending too much energy on the defensive end and his offense is suffering. Look at harden's horrible defense tonight. Or, he knows how bad his offense has been and is willing to pick up on defense as a result.

I love Lin and he can play ball. He and Harden play the same game. Lin is learning how to play off the ball. He came here expecting PG duties, now he becoming a combo guard. Lin has awesome transition and good with pnr. I think if you let him play his game , he would do well. let him come off the bench and play with second unit, He seems out of sync with Harden on the floor. Also when Harden refuses to give him the ball is messing with his head too. Lin needs to play his game. People on here talking about trading him to LA, that would be great, because D'antoni would be happy to have him. I have no doubt that he will end up there. I think Harden doesn't trust him and I also think Harden wants to be the alpha dog, which is fine, Lin is not going to push. Lin will find another way to build on some other strengths of the game, he is a smart kid. He is becoming very solid on defense. First of all Lin didn't hype himself up, it was the press. I was glad when Morris refused to give Harden the ball said a lot.Sampson was the coach @OU where I went to school. We were championship team, but we lost our titles because of Sampson and recruiting violations. He was barred from NCAA ball in 2008. So who knows maybe Morey will trade Lin to LA, I for one would be happy.

Really most of it is going to come in the gym. Shooting drills over and over, with and without coaches.

As that improves, at some point it translates into the game.

It's like playing Billiards or Golf. You don't become a great shooter in live games. You have to drill over and over until your body becomes perfectly synchronized with the shot.

Surgery to the knees isn't just about the joint. For shooters it's about how the musculature changes, how your body weight and distribution changes, and how the proportion of fast twitch to slow twitch muscle mass changes.

On the bright side, we know that Lin is a gym rat. He's not going to sit on his butt and wait for his shot to magically improve. He'll be in the gym early, he'll be in the gym late, and he'll keep shooting at the basket until he finds his shot again.

Just seeing his improvement in terms of defense, going left and ball handles over last season have been so dramatic that it's been remarkably impressive. Even his free throws improved considerably from the beginning of the season last year towards the end. There was one stretch where he hit 20 FT's in a row... a substantial improvement from his FT shooting when he was hitting only 75% at the all star break. He finished with close to 80%.

One thing about Lin is when he says he's going to work on something, we nearly always see improvement.

    All Lin needs is time.

i reaaly think lin is an effective offensive game away from superstardom. if he can make close to 40-45% of his shots (total should come out to about 15 shots per game), i'd be happy. but he seems to be regressing. does it take this long to find your shot after an injury?

He won't try to "shoot himself out of this" when the game is on the line. That'll be irresponsible. He tried (and missed) a 3 when we were up by 20 and this board almost murdered him.

Agree. Lin was signed because of his offense, not defense. That part of his game will be ignored and guys like SAS will laugh on national tv for all to see. All this hype about linsanity and he can now barely get 10 points will reduce him to a laughing stock.

Why on earth would Morey trade Lin to LA? What could we get back from them which would fit with our current squad better than Lin does, other than Dwight, which obviously is NOT happening?

Pau is too old to fit with this young team. Nash, don't make me laugh. Kobe will retire a Laker. Dwight is untouchable unless he demands a trade, which he won't.

About this Harden trust thing ... in a way you may be right but I can't say it's unjustified. If Lin is shooting cold, Harden has to make a decision on getting the ball to the guy who has the best chance of scoring. In a way it's not fair because Harden can demand the ball and shoot himself out of his own slump but fact is he's the long-term big money franchise guy and them's the breaks.

Lin will find his way back though - I'm confident he will keep fighting on that front.

One thing I did notice a lot tonight (because I was looking for it) is that Lin keeps getting open lanes to the basket, but nobody hits him with a pass.

It's not just Harden failing to get him the ball, it's the whole team.

    Coaching problem.

Hard fought game, though harder than it should have been. Good to see the win, but disappointed in the fact that Jeremy is shooting like crap and Harden's hero ball crap. I totally thought that they would blow the game after the Hornet pushed hard at the end, but the Rockets pulled through. Sometimes you just have to win ugly I guess.

Morris proved he can play defense and is already a better shooter than Parsons. Excellent range.

Parsons was big on the boards tonight. Continues to contribute in a variety of ways.

Smith has a lot of talent but looks to be a one-dimensional low post player. He's a terrible defender.

Pat is solid, but not a starter. Decent rotational player.

Asik was huge tonight and is one of our 2 or 3 best players

Lin shot terribly and didn't facilitate any real offense. Coaching staff using him badly. Liked the 3 steals.

    Harden is Harden.

Douglas is finally shooting well. Together with his elite perimeter D, he's becoming a valuable part of this team.

You don't need to be a great shooter in the paint. He has a good mid court shot as well. The 3 ball is his worst.

actually I am a huge lin fan, part of the reason why I joined this forum, so forgive the long winded paragraph on lin.. It bothers me that he is struggling.

As far as parson, not sure how he was horrible overall, he didn't shoot the ball well, but 13/10 is far from horrible...
