Stop that kind of negative talk..
    Lin is playing well defensively..
just the shots not getting in.. He still contributed to the game, though not in the ways you hope for..

    Ah ok. My apologies:(

I still stand by my statement on the overall state of this site though. I'm just happy none of these posters have no input on the running of our team.

    Post game analysis:

The rockets are streaky. Live by the 3 die by the 3.

Morris + Douglas 3s = 15 points. That's why we were up by so much. otherwise, it was within 5 game the entire time.

3rd quarter breakdown: honestly, the rockets played well. They got the ball moving around and did a lot of drives but hornets clogged the paint big time to stop that. And the open 3s did not fall. Should have kept TD in to milk his streakiness.

Also, we suck at hedging the PnR or defending the PnR in general. So many points given up because of that.

4th Quarter: Bailed out by clutch Parsons jumpers. Nothing else was falling really. Hornets also has clutch jumpers were difficult shots % wise.

Good game for all the Rockets players! They really lost their momentum at the end (same with Miami) and gotta figure something about that.

He doesn't set any screens....... When Morris came in, he did set screens, and the bench lit it up.............

Not to mention, after TD's 1 or 2 decent games... STARTER MATERIAL.

To be fair, Lin generated a ton of open looks and good passes including multiple point blank layups. Lack of finishing/shooting took at least 3 or 4 assists off his boxscore.

His shooting is still weak from the 3 point line. He missed 2 layups, but pretty sure he got badly fouled on the 2nd layup.

Harden was awful from 3 point range... but he also wasn't drawing very many fouls. Still, he put up alot of points especially against their 2nd unit (which is as it should be). I just wish the refs were consistent.

Our 2nd unit offense clearly outmatched their 2nd unit defense... our 2nd unit defense couldn't defend a paper bag. Left lanes wide open. Hardly rotated at all. Terrible closeouts on shooters outside of Morris and Smith. Really bad contesting of shots not only at the perimeter but on the inside.

It's amazing that Memphis' 2nd unit missed any shots at all with how easily they were getting great looks.

Delfino's shooting was mostly terrible. Didn't make a single 3 after the first one was rolled back.

Really it's amazing we put up 100 points considering how off the team was in terms of shooting.

TD shot very well... go figure. Hopefully it means he's getting his shot back. Without his 3 point shooting, he's an on ball defender with sub-par passing skills and weak rotation.

For the most part our 1st unit defense was good. Still too many slips in terms of closing on the outside shooters. Saw way too many shots where Harden and Parsons just watched someone line up a 3 pointer and drain it.

A few missed rotations... I think I counted 4 or 5. Not horrific, but definitely something they need to work on.

All in all, our offense was better especially on the 2nd unit.

Picks and screens were still a serious weak spot. Asik's picks were too short. He'd set a 1 or 2s pick then roll, but it was too soon. Too often he left Harden or Lin standing with a double team while Asik was busy rolling, not realizing he hadn't brushed any defenders off.

Hardly any screens set at all, for Lin, Harden or the other shooters. First unit really needs to work on screening the other offensive players, as well as screening players for pick and pops and cuts to the basket.

A few nice things, lots still to work on.

Why don't we let Asik close out 4th quarters? I don't understand.

Sad Jones didn't play. Would have loved to have seen him out there.

Harden was efficient. His defense is so poor though sometimes he doesn't try. And I detest his end of game execution. For the third time, Harden has the ball in a critical situation down the stretch and runs the clock down to the final second.

Lin attacked a bit more but his shots just weren't converting I like the idea he just needs to keep doing that more & more eventually shots will fall. But still no plays being run for him at all. I see picks & screens (not very good ones) being run for Harden all the time but none for Lin. Even when he was on the court by himself without Harden none of the bigs did anything. His passing was good today a couple of great passes that teammates didn't convert. His defense was good as well.

Asik was really good today. Don't understand why Sampson keeps taking him out at the end of games 3rd time that the coaching staff did this.

Parsons was alright today. He hit that final three though. I didn't like how Harden dumped the ball off on Parsons to bail him out in that one 3 was really dumb.

Also, no one in the starting lineup can properly set a screen. One of the reasons why the bench can play so well.

When Lin shot that 3rd three pointer IIRC, he even shook his head after it bricked. Pretty good sign that his confidence in his shot is really down.

His game is nothing like the games with the Knicks. When he drives, it was almost automatic. Perhaps the loss of Amare and Chandler is hurting his game big time. Chandler is #1 in fg% last year, he was an excellent finisher and a great person to toss an alley oops to. Same goes with Amare, a dominant pick and roll player. I saw a few pick n rolls with asik, and well, I wouldn't pass him the ball either, its a turnover waiting to happen.

Anyway, Lin's poor game started in preseason and never improved from there. The aggression is gone. The confidence is gone. He is a shell of himself.

Ha. Kelvin Sampson just commented on the Rockets' "bowel movement" during the postgame.
