Not sure which is worse, Royce's irrational response to the situation or some of the posters responses to his behavior...

Still too many people not recognizing, nor acknowledging that mental illness is as legitimate a condition as cancer or any other "visible" condition. Spewing spite and hate at the kid, knowing full well he is reading it and reacting to it is just deplorable.

I keep hearing this old song as I read through this thread.

    Easy To Be Hard

How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard, easy to be cold

How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud, easy to say no

Especially people who care about strangers
Who care about evil and social injustice
Do you only care about bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend, I need a friend

How can people be so heartless
You know I'm hung up on you
Easy to be proud, easy to say no

Especially people who care about strangers
Who care about evil and social injustice
Do you only care about bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend, we all need a friend

How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be proud, easy to say no
Easy to be cold, easy to say no
Come, on, easy to give in, easy to say no
Easy to be cold, easy to say no
Much too easy to say no

    wowowowow

so this has nothing to do with his disorder

"If you don't play me, I'm going to have an anxiety attack and skip practice and games, so you better play me or you are detrimental to my health and not supporting me...."

I'm officially done with this POS self entitled man-child, release him now and I hope he fails with that attitude.

Man, can somebody make him get off his twitter? He is making things much more difficult for the Rox management and for himself. The hope to find a solution is diminishing each time he sends out a new tweet.

where is his agent and family giving him proper guidance?

Does he think threatening to have an anxiety attack will result in playing time?

    self-destruction

A lot of ignorance being thrown at Royce. That isn't fair to him.

However, his tweets don't appear as transparent right now.

They appear as callous and disrespectful to his highly paying employers.

thats what I said. at some point, SOMEONE (Anyone?) has to tell him to pull the brakes! he is not only sullying his reputation, but losing his anxiety-disorder platform, AND risking his NBA career. At this point its immaturity...my brother has sever anxiety and he doesn't turn to twitter to complain and air his grievances, he's worked it out to where he got married, has kids, and a great job. Just takes perserverance.

Agent, step up! Family, step up! Clutchfans--i think we all have been driven to anxiety with this constant drivel...hopefully it won't impact team chemistry going forward.

I have never heard in my life a professional athelete blackmailing for playing time with a health issue. What in the **** is this real life.

Can you imagine Scott Machado saying to the staff, I need playing time or my knee is going to explode and it will be your fault...

    Employee Rights
Individuals with disabilities are protected from discrimination in employment primarily by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act. The Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) provides information about these laws. However, ODEP does not enforce these laws.

The Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) enforces Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires federal contractors and subcontractors with government contracts in excess of $10,000 to take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified individuals with disabilities. Additionally, OFCCP has coordinating authority under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits job discrimination by employers against qualified individuals with disabilities. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has primary authority for enforcing the employment-related provisions of the ADA, which are found in Title I. Most government contractors are covered by both Section 503 and Title I of the ADA.

OFCCP also enforces the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA). Some disabled veterans are covered under this law. If a covered disabled veteran believes he or she has been discriminated against by a federal contractor or subcontractor, he or she may file a complaint with OFCCP.

The Department’s Civil Rights Center (CRC) enforces the employment-related provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Section 504 covers organizations and entities that receive federal financial assistance from DOL. CRC also enforces Title II of the ADA as that title applies to the labor- and workforce-related practices of state and local governments and other public entities. Finally, CRC enforces Section 188 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), which bars disability-based discrimination by programs and activities that are part of the One-Stop employment and training system established by WIA Title I. See the Laws & Regulations subtopic for specific information on these laws.

You are right. We should start him and every play should be designed around him getting the rock. He should not practice or go to team meetings. Every night should be royce white bobblehead night with variations of him in different teams. You know 'Hawaiian Royce' and ' Xmas Royce' with santa cap on etc.

Why didn't he tell Rockets management about this before his contract was signed? I am mad at him. Release him and move on. Rockets did the right thing and Royce did wrong, period.

    #crutchcity

I think you just came up with the hashtag for discussing this. I think it would be funny considering his abuse of hashtags. #problems, really is that a trending topic #problems?

    And...

    Employers' Responsibilities
Employers with 15 or more employees are prohibited from discriminating against people with disabilities by Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In general, the employment provisions of the ADA require:

    equal opportunity in selecting, testing, and hiring qualified applicants with disabilities;
job accommodation for applicants and workers with disabilities when such accommodations would not impose "undue hardship;" and
equal opportunity in promotion and benefits.
The Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) provides information on the ADA, but it does not enforce any part of the law.

Other federal laws bar discrimination on the basis of disability in employment and are either enforced or administered by the Department of Labor. The primary such law is Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which requires federal contractors and subcontractors with government contracts in excess of $10,000 to take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified individuals with disabilities. The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) is responsible for enforcing Section 503.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces ADA regulations covering employment.

So, all I am saying is The Rockets orginization might be minding the P's & Q's because Royce has made this such an issue about having a disability. In quotes from both Morey and Les, it appears they are playing this by the book and I have seen this in the various corporation in which I have been a consultant.
