Lin won't be traded. You can bet your house on it. As for Gasol, I've been on Lakers forums and most people there want him gone.

Another thing that needs to consider is that aside from the fact that Morey has been high on Gasol for some time, Gasol's contract Expires at the end of 2013/14.

In other words, if Morey does NOT want to retain him, or wants to parlay him into another player, he's a $19.3M Expiring contract at the end of this year.

For a GM looking to deal for another potential Star/Superstar, that's a pretty darn handy trade chip.

    Probably

    will be

Lin+ D-Mo (lots of criticized from Europe, because he will play to Vipers) + T-Jones + (maybe Royce)

Delfino is 1 year contract and 31 yo and TDouglas for sure, Dantoni will not accept.

Will the salaries match? Can't do it in the ESPN trade machine. Mind share please?

You can't do it in the ESPN trade machine because Lin's contract is NOT tradable until December.

When we get to December, it will allow it.

As for salary matching, it does NOT apply to us since we are under the cap. The only requirement would be for the Lakers to take LESS salary back.

If salaries match is not a issue, then:

    Pau/Blake/Duhon = Lin/TD/PP/Delfino

Lin: LOH would be happy, Lin doesn't mind to back up Nash and learn from him.
TD: MDA still likes him for his hard work and on the ball defense. TDOH happy.
PP: He had demonstrated he can shoot the 3, a stretch 4 for MDA's system.
    Delfino: a pure 3p shooter.

I don't think rockets will give up Parson (I like him very much, he is a better version of Landry Fields).

    TORCA, your though please?

The question is whether that would be enough for the Lakers to do the trade. Pau is a valuable player, as a trade asset AND as a basketball player.

I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted another player in that mix... like Parsons, Morris, Montejunas or Machado given that they're giving up 2 players on TOP of Pau.

Honestly though, beyond Pau/Blake/Duhon and Lin as the starting point, it would probably all be just horsetrading. IE, you could almost see any mix of players on our end.

Thanks a lot. I'll give them Dmo then if I were Morey. As long as Lin can learn from Nash, what the hack, hehe.

    Call me LOF. ha.

Why the heck are we trading Lin for Gasol? What for? Is CP3 100% coming to Houston? Will Pau and Harden win us rings? How old is Pau? :)

If i were the Lakers, why would i trade Pau for Patterson when i can get D'Antoni's favorite P&R guy in Amare from the Knicks.

Nash, Kobe, MWP, Amare, Dwight <--- D'Antoni likes

Melo, Pau, Chandler <--- Knicks improve.

I think a lot of this trade talk is quite fanciful. Look at all the trade threads in GARM and all the players discussed. And in the end, the big trade that happened was Harden, one that no one saw coming.

It's great that fans can have trade rumours to talk about and look forward too but it just seems like wishful thinking without anything solid to back it up right now.

I'd love Lin to be traded to a team where he can play as a PG, but until things deteriorate more here, that's not going to happen any time soon. Though the way things are going, by mid-season it might very well be the case.

Well the Rocket's coaching staff don't really see any value in Lin as a PG. For the rockets, if he isn't running the point he has more value as a trade asset than as a spot-up 3 point, corner shooter.

Be patient. At this rate, Morey will hire a new coach if they keep using Lin as a spot up shooter.

I have a lot of faith in Lin as a player and as a person, but he's still only a 24 year old kid.

On the one hand, he's had to face these kinda walls his entire life. On the other hand I look at the way he's being treated and can't help but think how can his confidence not get totally destroyed?

Bottom line, if this goes on for much longer I don't see Lin being a very useful player for the rockets. And his trade value will also decline. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Will the coaching staff be asked by the FO to let him play? Will they look for a trade in December? Or will they just let him languish indefinitely. I think the last option isn't likely because it benefits no one, especially not the rockets.

Amar'e's body is done for. He is untradeable (contract is uninsured).

Trading Lin and others for Gasol/Duhon/Blake makes the most sense. Rockets will have Douglas/Duhon/Machado at point.

Oh and by the way, aside from Harden, we don't have the pieces nor the players to make the Lakers a better team than what they are now. Get real peeps. The reason why they were trading us Gasol before is because they were acquiring CP3.

They're goal is to win now. If you guys think replacing Pau Gasol with Lin and Patterson would increase their chances of winning the championship then your thinking is clearly flawed by being a Rocket fan.
