I wouldn't mind Bargnani, but I'd still prefer Gasol or work with what we've got. Gasol knows he's a Power Forward/Center. Bargnani still thinks he's a 7 ft Shooting Guard.
That is true but Bargnani still is young enough to work on being a Big Man with McHale. Plus he about 6 million dollars cheaper and we'd have to give up less.
His contract is longer and he plays less effeciently and no where near as much defense... also he cant rebound... i wouldnt mind bargnani but youd be stuck with his role player output with his high salary for years... samr with gallinari.. I always hated gasol but it makes sense...

Lakers are allegedly shopping Duhon and Blake. No word on Pau yet despite all the speculation. I could see a package deal coming in December.
But Lakers could use Pau. He's a great passer (probably the best passing big, not counting LeBron/Duncan) and a good pick-and-pop option. Fits with the D'Antoni offense. If Lakers can't find a good back-up to Nash, then they'll have to balance Pau's value to the offense vs. their need to keep Nash healthy while having a decent back-up PG.
This is actually along the lines I was thinking. Pau + Blake + Duhon for Lin + Delfino + Parsons + TD/Machado Gives the Lakers a back up PG for the long term that D'Antoni likes, cuts their salary, strengthens their bench and adds some 3 point shooting. Rockets pick up a strong Big man, fixes their back up PG position and picks up a decent shooting combo PG. And yah, soonest they can trade is December if they package Lin.
My feel is this: Pau/Blake/Duhon for Lin/Patterson/Cook/TD. I don't think the Rox give up Parsons on this. Maybe Delfino.
Guys guys, Morey would never do this deal. They would be without a starting PG and get way older without a talent upgrade. Lin would not be included in any such deal, I'm pretty sure of that.
Yea true... the Rox need 3pt shooters as much as the Lakers do... 3rd team might get roped in (Tyreke anyone?).
disagree on the "no talent upgrade" part though. Pau gets underrated a lot by fans cause he's not flashy and has a reputation of being soft. But he's a consistent 20/10 guy and is the consummate professional. Amazing passer, good midrange option and has an array of post-moves without taking things off the table w/ minus defense. He is old but his contract only has 2 years left on it and Pau has never been injury prone.
Technically Blake and Duhon are PG's. And if Harden is playing the primary ball handling/PG role (ala Chalmers vs Lebron), then it really isn't an issue. Not to mention it would not be difficult to acquire a passable PG during the offseason compared to the difficulty of acquiring a talented Forward.
don't think lin is gonna get traded.meh, rather have a free agent sign in the off season instead of giving up players, especially for pau
Sampson and McFail will convince Morey to give up Lin for Gasol. And given their poor use of Lin and his struggles thus far, Morey and ownership could well be convinced to do this. Of course then Lin will average 20 pts coming off he bench splitting time with Nash under dantoni's system. Oh the irony!
Definitely a trade of Lin + others for Gasol/Blake/Duhon is something Morey will be considering. Rockets would still have Douglas/Duhon/Machado playing point.
