Maybe he's smart enough to know that he'll never get in front of Patterson, Morris, or Jones and use this illness to find a new team.

I'm wondering this myself. Anything in the CBA that accounts for this? I think a player whose contract has been voided should be banned from playing the league for at least two years.

 

question: if we void his contact, does it still count against cap space?

 

I feel for the guy, but if health is his top priority he should not have entered himself into the draft. It's not like it was a secret what NBA life is like.
