OK and OK. However, is McHale the right coach for a team rebuilding from the 'foundation' up? I hate that McHale is away for why he is away. I hate that McHale, who has stated that he signed up to coach a contender, has not evidenced the development aspects of coaching. I suspect KMc would do better with a Lakers roster than with this Rox group. I suspect, further, that a Finch or even a Sampson is better suited for this roster. It doesn't make McHale evil or incompetent. It just renders him miscast. All that and I hope he is able to return post haste with health restored to his family. Then fire him...
He Really isnt Healthy he wasnt going to go to some games with the Lakers. And He is Going to want alot of money for little time
Add another young Hardenesque piece and maybe then we'd have a chance in hell. Do you think we can slip some acid into Bird's coffee and get him to trade us Paul George?
At first I thought this was a compliment, but then I realized this just means I'm slightly better than below average....thanks anyway....i guess
Phil Jackson sucks at building a team from the ground up which is why he always latches on to the nearest great mega superstar, which we don't have.
No, Phil Jackson is the worst kind of coach for Jeremy. Point guards in the triangle only shoot threes and sometimes can play defense. Jeremy is better than that.
For those of you who follow the Stros as well, I am beginning to see McHale in the same light as Brad Mills. That is, McHale has a chance to make this cog of players work better than expected. The difference in McHales situation compared to what Brad Mills had been is that expectations are higher and sooner for the Rockets rebuild than the Astros rebuild. When you add a player like Harden, your luxury to take lots of time starts to evaporate. So McHale has less time to show his best colors than Brad did. But if his best effort becomes no better than just holding down the fort, his time will run out like Brad's did.
So the OP thinks that Phil Jackson, who lives in L.A., dating the owners daughter, has a long time relationship with Kobe, and a chance to coach Dwight Howard along side of him on a potentially monster team....after turning down all that, would come out to Houston to coach a lottery team?????? There really needs to be something done about these threads.
You have to have a coach that is willing to grow with a young team...I am not sure if McHale is the right person...but PJ is definitely not that person...Period! Other options: 1. SVG(he really is a good coach that was undercut by his player) 2. JVG (he makes the team play the best possible defense, but the offense may be sketchy) 3. Kelvin Sampson(Like what he has done with using his players and giving starters the right amount of rest) 4. Finch (Adelman's prodigy) 5. Sloan (He is the most successful out of those ahead of me...and he will make both the offense and defense improve drastically) 6. Mike Brown(pathetic that they fired him from LA, and yes, he will have the patience, to coach this young team and will be willing to grow learn from the team as well)
