Want the rock in his hands a little more. He is decent at passing it seems. he should only really be shooting when the defense gives him that.. in the moment of the game and motion of the game. He is more of a motion player vs spot up. I dont understand sampson or mchale having parsons or harden bring it up and having lin standing at the 3 point line. Lin dumping it off and then standing is ridiculous. If anything lin should be dribbling around moving with ball passing it around. If we are going to rely on lin for spot up shooting we are screwed. It seems like that is just not his game. Not prepared to call Lin a joke just yet but he does need to stop deferring and be the point guard. He is looking pretty lost right about now and I feel like jury is still out on him. That errant pass at end of game was mind boggling along with the airball. He cant really do that too many more times before offense or not, it starts to come back to the player. He might be great at steals and assists and we need to play to that. Not spot up shooting. This is on lin and also on the offensive strategy. So far on defense he look okay.
Even Jordan has shot airballs before, and we already know Kobe has airballed a 3 pointer before also.
Seriously? I know it was an air ball, but this thread makes it seem like he missed a championship shot. I can't believe some of this "analysis" I'm reading. I thought he played well tonight, even with that last shot. Maybe some of this anger is due to most people not expecting to beat Miami. When we got the lead and lost it, people started to forget this was the Heat we were playing. They started to feel owed a win, hence the overreaction. Our half-court offense is obviously still very much a work in progress though; that's my complaint. It seems like our offensive game plan is: Plan A - P&R Plan B - Wait, what?
If you listen to Sampson's interview today it's clear that he has no interest in Lin as the playmaker on this team and that the direction for Lin is to handover the ball to harden and go stand in the corner. Lin has no future as a PG on this team. Too bad for him that he is such a nice guy, I think Lowry or Dragic would have demanded a trade day before yesterday if this is how they were being treated.
That is why Jeremy needs to stop acting like a biatch and start playing his way. Just date Mchale or Sampson to sit him. Morey got him and apologized for getting rid of him and now still disrespect him like this? Doesn't Jeremy have any pride? Eff that Christian shiet and tell them to Eff off. Your basketball futur is at stake. You are no longer the dispensable d leaguer! Smdh!
Wow, you CFers sure like to complain. I'm sure last season you guys had 50+ page threads about how Kyle Lowry was a scrub, right? Here are Lowry's per 36 stats over 8 games from 1/24 to 2/4 last season, compared to Lin's 7 games this far this season: Code: PLAYER FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% AST TO STL PTS Kyle Lowry 3.6 11.2 .321 0.8 4.3 .188 4.1 5.2 .795 7.9 2.3 2.0 12.1 Jeremy Lin 4.1 11.1 .373 1.2 3.9 .308 2.8 3.1 .905 6.7 2.7 2.5 12.3 In case some of you don't get my underlying point and paint me as a Lowry hater, I'm not saying that Lowry sucks. I'm saying that every player has stretches where they don't play extremely high levels. I get it, Lin choked big time. But he also helped the team a lot. The Rockets might not have been in the position of being 1 point down had it not been for Lin's excellent one-on-one defense on Lebron and Ray Allen in the minutes prior. Or his 2 made 3-pointers from earlier in the game. Or any of his other contributions last night. Some of you guys are looking for any reason to hate on a young up-and-coming player, one who plays the team you're rooting for no less, and that's just sad.
A miss is a miss regradless .So i guess to alot of fans, if Lin miss but hit the rim, somehow it will make the loss LESS BITTER ?LOL.Some so call FANS are funny!
Come on now. Let's give Coach Sampson the benefit of the doubt. Thus far, he's been honest and I think he's giving a very honest assessment of the Lin-Harden backcourt. We all want to see Lin AND Harden succeed. Harden IS the primary option of the team. There's a reason that he has a max contract. But Coach Sampson also very candidly says that the team can't have Harden dribble out the clock and play like Superman. At the same time, Lin's got to play with his head up. If Lin wants to be a great player in the league, it starts with the mental aspect. And quite frankly, this is an area that Lin needs to improve. The game is 48 minutes. Lin needs to control his own emotions and his own thoughts before he can effectively control a game. Being a floor general means that you have constancy of energy and consistent play. The only way that people can place their trust in him is if he can do those things.
Yeah, I don't buy it. Everytime Lin has been allowed to run the offense he has done a pretty good job at it. Look at the game with the Pistons where he had 8 assists in limited minutes. Could have had a lot more if Asik hadn't fumbled the ball like 3 times. There's nothing wrong with Lin's emotions. He's just doing what he's been told to do. His energy is fine. That's why he's getting all those steals, rebounds and blocks. They testify to his effort on the court. But he's completely handcuffed and leashed offensively and that's all on the coach's attitude towards him.
Good post but don't bother trying to be logical with these guys, their hate is not determined by logic. Expect this all season, anytime Lin does anything wrong its: he's a scrub, overrated, fluke, only popular cuz he's Asian, backup pg, no future, no upside, overpaid, no left hand, lowry's 10x better, dragics 1000x better, turnover machine, too small, too weak, too unathletic, can't shoot, he sucks, hes a JOKE!!!
Yeah. That's like saying an F is the same as a B because they're not A's anyway. If he hit the rim, there's at least hope. But now it's hopeless
Because these defects are really out there. Linsanity is greatly shrinking. I agree that he is overrated, unathletic and can't shoot.
Lin is who we though he was--an average backup point guard, and comparing Lin to Jordan and Kobe...WOW. Lin fans are worse than Justin Bieber fans.
