Lin was actually playing pretty well up until the airballs at the end. The strip of Chris Bosh, which led to the Lin to Parsons slam was sublime.

Lin's going to have ups and downs. He's young and he's on a new team. Admittedly, I wish there was a little bit more stability in his game, but it's one of the (supposedly) good things being on a young team is THEY CAN ALL GROW TOGETHER.

Confidence is a mindset. Jeremy needs to stop thinking so much and just ball.

You know what, you are right. An airball doesn't make him any less of a player than he was before the shot. Problem is, there are extreme, opposing views of this kid. Scrub, backup PG, great upside, average player, love him, hate him, Dragic is better, blah blah blah.

This airball is the perfect opportunity for doubters to come out and say things like, "There I told you so, he sucks! trade his ass" or "I never liked this signing and his poor play proved me right." If he made the shot, I bet we'll see a thread with the video highlights, along with Lin fans claiming how clutch he is, Linsanity is back, Mr 4th quarter. Either way, serves its agenda.

This thread is so long for the exact same reasons I've said above. We are arguing over the same things that's been argued many times before, depending on your opinion of Lin, biased or not. I never agreed with people who used the 25 games to reason how Lin's a great player, so to be fair, 7 games doesn't determine anything substantial as well.

    The OP is a joke.

i really wish ppl would just wait an entire season or even two given his age and then make any final judgements about this kid

i agree with that sentiment. I think any rational person would see how he plays through this season before making blanket statements about whether or not he's "a joke". But i also think that given the fact that we are paying him $8.5 mil, people expect to see a good starter out there right now; and that's not the current situation with Lin. I think it's too early to be overly critical and write him off, but it's also clear that he's gonna have to grow into that contract, and with it, bare the inevitable criticism that comes with being over-payed.

First of all I never called all the members of this forum racist, I'm sure there a few racists here just like anywhere else. besides being "racist" isnt like having cancer, it isn;t a permanent state, sometimes people feel abit racist here and there and sometimes they dont.

What I said if you were listening is that

    a) most Lin fans are Asian
    b) most hardcore rox fans dont like LOF cuz they have invaded the forum
    c) most hardcore rox fans don't appreciate the fact that LOF only root for Lin cuz he's Asian and consider these LOF not real Rox fans.

If you disagree with that then that's fine

It sounds like you are Asian. Not that it matters, but since you bring it up, then perhaps you can display some of the people and relationship skills of being someone of the same color.

For example, you may be able to sympathize with the pressure to succeed. You may be able to sympathize with being a pioneer or trail blazer in a totally different field. And perhaps you may be able to sympathize with the scrutiny of the being the one and only Asian face in the NBA.

Give him a break, will ya? He's young. Let him live a little. I'm plenty sure that Lin can be plenty hard on himself without the additional criticism, and that's such a shame for someone so young. YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE MISTAKES before they become old, grainy, and disillusioned like the rest of us.

Maybe, maybe not, but bringing up race is always frowned upon. It's been used so many times in the past that it has lost all effectiveness.

I bet if Harden airballed that shot no one would be griping as much as everyone on Clutchfans is right now.

Hey Aruba nice to see you :). Anyway, this I disagree with. Aside from his shooting/scoring everything else has been solid from him, rebounds, blocks, steals, passing, defense etc. He is overpaid because they are making him into something he isn't a a spot up shooter.

But if they put the ball in his hands & let him make plays things would be different. In fact they are using him the way golden state used him which is odd because we all know that didn't work. They aren't doing that but I think as the team gets a lot more comfortable things will be different.

Of course he can make mistakes, I never mind players missing shots. But I have problem with them shying away from shots and responsibilities. It has nothing to do with race. The main point is, Lin wasn't this timid when he was at the end of bench; he wasn't timid when he had only role players with him; he wasn't timid when he had to go through coach change, style change, teamamtes change, in New York.

Of course I support him, and he won't hear my applause or criticism. But on a message forum, I will criticize a player when I see something I don't like, even I am a fan of him, and even I am Chinese.

But Hardem is getting a bigger contract and isn't even criticized as much as Lin and Harden really hasn't had great games after the first two. There is a double standard, because really there were a lot of people on here who didn't want Lin in the first place and so when he makes a mistake it is blown out of portion. I don't mean we should criticize Harden and not Lin, but the majority of any loss or even win Lin will get criticize for any mistakes.

I didn't bother reading this whole thread, but from Chandler post interview and I think he meant OP and some of the fans here. "Everybody is going to look at that shot and people are going to talk about that. People that doesn't know about basketball." Yup, he meant you!;)
