Anyone going to get this tonight?

Apparently it's first come first serve and they're shipping out the first of the phones tomorrow once you order. I'm guessing the 16 will be a hot commodity in comparison to the 8. Still no timetable on when it's going to go on sale, possibly tonight at 12 AM PST, or in the morning tomorrow at 9 AM PST.

I would love to, but I'm not sure yet.

TMI, but I'm supposed to be saving money towards a move to San Diego in 6 months, so I shouldn't be spending the 350.

I want to get one so bad though...

What if you are buying on contract with T-Mobile? Do I buy from Google or Tmo website?

Its interesting to see the direction Google wants their flagship to go in and this launch makes it a little weird. Android users looking to get glass backed phones with non removable batteries, no LTE and $20 bumper cases. It's like an alternate dimension.

Why would you lock your self into a contract? It just doesn't make sense. Especially when the device is $299/$349 unlocked. You'll most likely be ordering from T-mobile.com. Stores got their shipments today, you might be able to pick one up tomorrow from a T-mobile CORPORATE retail store

What's so bad about contracts? I like my current plan and don't plan on changing it in the next two years so I don't really see a problem there. Plus I'm saving about $150. Am I missing something here?

The phone would cost $200 with a 2 year T-Mobile contract. You can buy the phone without contract for $300. Depending on what you need minutes/data wise, your monthly plan would be cheaper than the contract plan. So even with spending the extra $100 up front, you end up saving more money, plus you have the flexibility to switch to another provider should you choose to do so.

Waiting on Christmas sales before committing to a phone.

Down to the Nexus 4 or the Droid Razr Maxx HD for me.

If you're not a current VZW customer with unlimited data, I'd go for the Nexus 4. Otherwise say hello to $100/month for 2GB of data thanks to Share Everything.

I did the math and I would need 4GB of data. It would end up costing me roughly $125 a month vs. $50 with T-Mobile.

Problem is 1) I like the Razr more and 2) Verizon's network is way better.

Dang, you use that much data? Big balllla...that's a pretty big price difference between the two though. $900 bucks per year difference. I have Verizon, and although their network is awesome, I dont know if its that much more awesome than T-Mobile. You could pretty much buy a new phone every year and still save money with T-Mobile.

T-Mobile value plans (i.e., bring your own phone) are $20 cheaper/month versus Classic 2 year contract plans.

If it was me, I'd buy the phone from Google and switch to a value plan when your current contract plan is up.

Droid DNA was just announced btw for Verizon people. And it's looking really good.

I wish Verizon would stop delaying Samsung devices (Note 2, Galaxy Nexus) to pimp the Droid brand. I want to compare the Droid DNA and Note 2 side by side in store and not have to wait a few months in order to do that. I get why they do it; it's just so annoying.

    It's two factors really.

    1) Battery life (I hear the Nexus 4 kinda sucks)

    2) Data coverage

If I'm out running around and T-Mobile's data sucks, then I am going to be mega pissed. That extra $75 a month is worth it to me to have a phone that doesn't die prematurely and always has great data.

I may try the Nexus for a while and see if I like it, because I can always sell it on the aftermarket without getting tied into a contract.

Okay, I see...yeah, Im not too familiar with the T-Mobile data...and Im not sure if any of my friends have it, so I have no point of reference. I cant say that the Verizon data coverage has been flawless, bc I have had issues here and there with getting good data, but I do know they are probably the best. Definitely annoying to be stuck in a situation where you're not getting data.

    Tough call.

I can't comment on battery life since I don't have one but if you're willing to go post-paid and pay for better data, you could always go with AT&T postpaid with no contract. Sure, it's not LTE. However, AT&T HSPA+ is in a majority of places where T-Mobile does not have good coverage.

Wow I had no idea it would sell out so quick.

I'll buy one when it's available again.

There's no way I could have 2 or 2.5GB a month of data.

I'm always around 4-7, and at times if I have my tablet with me I got around 14-17GB a month.
