Totally agree. Lin needs to stay humble and hungry like the pre linsanity dayz. If he does that, we're in good shape!
You just freaking mentioned Kevin Garnett, the MVP and one of the best PF to ever play the game...all before he went to Boston. Your argument is not weak, its non-existence.
they aren't utilizing correctly that's for sure. it's just like Nash with the Lakers under Brown. a coaching staff can turn an MVP like Nash into a total scrub.
Lmao You're a joke, just like your deity Lin.
Let me summarize a quote from Kevin McHale for you "Jeremy is the point guard. He has the ball in his hands. What more do you want?"
Now let me sum up why your r****ded arguments are just that. 1) The Rockets have a losing record as well. So the point that Lowry and Dragic are just stat padding on bad teams is irrelevant. 2) Lin is playing passive. There is no conspiracy by the Rockets to make their 8 million dollar pg look bad. 3) Lin is basically the number 2 option on this team. Lowry is second behind Derozen. Dragic is not the first option either. Scola/Beasley are. Although I have no idea why Beasley's usage is so high, but meh...suns...go figure. So the point that they are the focal points is also thrown out. 4) Lin not having the ball in his hands is not true. McHale already dismissed this nonsense.
Just go to bed dude. And I said he "played like one of the best pound guards" in the league. Not that he was one. There's a difference.
LOL did you catch Harden while it happened? He was leaning over and about to say, "its GOOD" then...it just dropped like a big fat piece of turd right before it got too the rim. Lin threw a mean sinker. Get this guy to the 'Stros!
But is it the coaches asking him to be passive or is it just him being passive or is it a combination of both? That is the question. It wasn't like this at all in the first two games. But after the Hawks game it seems like the coaches went all in on Harden, hard to say.
His argument was [rquoter] Team success is not necessarily a correct indicator of individual talent. [/rquoter] which apparently agree with considering you just said Kevin Garnett's one of the greatest of all time.
Yes. I noticed that as well. He needs to earn leadership and he really isn;t doing anything to attain it. He should realize that he will never be able to thrive in this type of offensive scheme. When he bring the ball up the floor, he should keep the ball in stead of looking for harden and try to do his thing. I liked the turn around shot (that rolled) on Ray Allen he did at the end of the game. IF he takes enough of them, they will go in.
It's not about one game though. The rocket fan base have been waiting all summer, preseason, and now the first two weeks of the season for Lin to make his mark on the team after months and months of hype. That shot against this team, on a night when guys like Asik, Parsons, and Morris played their hearts out, that moment (akin to Toronto on Valentines day), that was his chance to make his mark on this team this season. And instead of seizing that moment, he airballs the shot. That is why that shot is so huge if he would have made it, and so disappointing that he didn't. The videos are all out on YouTube of that shot... And Lin is he laughing stock of the NBA tonight. Lets just say this wont be part of his 60minutes highlight reel. Lin has an opportunity to learns and grow from this... He can use it as motivation or he can let it cause him to lose even more confidence moving forward.
First post. I'm just so confused after watching the heat game. This has been bothering me for a while... Is Jeremy Lin even a PG on this team now?? and forget about the 2nd option. He's not even close to that...At least to me even TD looked more of a PG on this team. I think it is obvious to everyone that actually Harden is playing the point for the team. Lin is playing like a spot-up shooter who avg less than 10 shots with a poor %. And I don't believe this is who he really is. Lin looked like he was playing out of his position and out of his comfort level. He looked lost and hesitated on the court. That might probably one of the reasons why he was so passive. For those who enjoy comparing Lin's stat to Lowry and Dragic's, those two are not SHARING their PG jobs with others on their team! However, Lin is sharing his pg position with Harden! How could you have a better stat line when you are sharing your position with another person?? This comparison is so unfair. This is kind of like Harden's situation in OKC. If anyone noticed, Lin actually played pretty well the first two games when he was the REAL PG on this team. His performance regressed drastically after he became a spot-up shooter, which is one of his biggest weakness. I have no idea why the coaching staff want to magnify his weakness and take away his strength...I hope this is just Lin not adjusting well. Anyway the Harden being PG and Lin being SG strategy is so ridiculous.
Let's not get crazy. I once saw Rafer airball a shot and hit Shareef Abdur-Rahim straight in his head.
Yeah, my jaw dropped at that airball, but that shouldn't erase all the good stuff that he did tonight. And definitely did not deserve to be called "a joke". Now I feel bad about laughing at Blake Griffin when he airballed his FTs...lol....
Maybe they're experimenting? They have little pressure to make an impact in the playoffs, so perhaps they're trying out different strategies for the long run? Maybe they're trying to gauge James Harden's ceiling at the moment. I think it's foolish to think that we know better than people whose livelihoods depend on getting results. Surely McHale and Sampson know what Lin's good at and what Harden's good at.
Lin is not getting more scrutinized than the previous PGs on the rockets...believe me. He is making about 3 times as much they did which is why people feel defensive about the criticism.
Are starting backcourt has been shooting terribly. In the past 5 games: Harden: 33% FG, 17.2% 3P Lin: 36.2% FG, 28.6% 3P What is up.
I am glad I am not the only one seeing this. I don't think it's all coaching because I have seen him pass up good looks many times in the last few games. It is so frustrating to watch cause I don't think he is trying to get a better shot for his teammates. It looks like he is afraid to make a miss. Whatever the case, we can all agree that Jeremy is not thriving in this scheme. And for whateever reason, he is not able to play his game. That is the mystery that Morey needs to look into.
