Hello Dragic looked like **** when he first got traded to Houston. Lowry couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in his first season here. Hello, these players didn't turn into great players overnight. CALM DOWN.
Did you really expect Lin to come out with the same stats like Kyle and Goran? If you were expecting that then I don't know what to say. The Rockets signed Lin for a different purpose. The Rockets were going a different direction and rebuilding. If they wanted to win, they would of kept both, if not one of them. But the Rockets basically got rid of everyone because they didn't want to go back into that same cycle again. This year before getting James Harden, the Rockets wanted some new excitement as well as starting all over again. You can't really argue about Kyle Lowry because the Rockets wanted that Lottery pick from the Raptors so they had to trade Kyle Lowry. Without ever trading Kyle, the Rockets would probably never got James Harden. With Goran, I really don't think he's doing that much better than Lin right now. Lin is younger than Goran, more marketable and brings some new excitement to the city. That is what the Rockets were aiming for. Not for Lin to replace Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic.
No, money was never an issue. Knicks were over the cap anyways, and they still ended up signing sheed, Kidd, Felton, Camby. Lin's poison pill doesnt kick until the 3rd year and they could have easily deferred the luxury tax payment into instalments over 3 years.
that may be a nice stat line for a 2nd/3rd string pg, not for a $8mil starting pg, especially when the whole team scored 110 points overpaid.
Cap room is not the issue. We have enough cap room to sign a near-max player. I guarantee you Jeremy will play better if he wasn't one of the main focuses for the opposing defense every night.
Its simple to offer ways that a team could have still signed a player but before negotiations start, the GM, the owner and management put a number on what they think a player is worth and where they draw the line. That is exactly what happened with Harden. Since what Houston offered was so unreasonable they didn't match.
Stating the obvious, but the Knicks watched every play Lin had during his run there. They didn't just watch his highlights. That's why they didn't match.
Lowry was still a good player even when he couldn't shoot. Dragic was inconsistent in the backup role, but he was only making $2M. Right now Lin is one of the worst starting PG's in the league and his contract looks terrible.
Not really. I wasn't a Lin fan. Lin still had to win me over. I'm saying he's a joke. I'm saying it was an immense mistake letting Kyle and Dragic go for him.
it's like people forget that dragic was given up on by the suns. It's up to the coaches to put hardlin in the best position to succeed, but putting lin to observe the offense and play off the ball is Bad. Lin's passes are crisp, his entry passes are on point. we should all cheer for him to improve. he has the pg skills down.
Lol i didnt say anything about the rest of his game, do you have reading comprehension issues? Point is, he missed a WIDE OPEN THREE. If that was Harden I'd bash him, and I think Harden is an idiot for the last couple of possessions too. brb making more logical points brb
I don't want to keep hearing we are the youngest team in the league. We had the lead and we blew it. Forget about the officials and Harden isolating the ball. Lin's job is to create for the rest of the team. He decides what the best option is and where the ball should go. By handing it to Harden every time we need a basket he is telling the rest of the team this is the best we can do and it's not.
