I am not saying that I know jack about NBA coaching. Just that you do not know any more than I do. And there is a hundred years of NBA experience on the Rockets coaching staff. Be a good boy and just admit your ignorance.
LBJ is from another planet and is a sight to behold admittedly. Lin is a train wreck on the perimeter, lost his mojo on the way from NYC. Harden has moments of greatness but also ineptitude on decisionmaking down the stretch. Asik...wow...is really developing an offensive game in a hurry! Assistant coaching mistake bigtime to end an exciting game.
Can someone upload the final play where people are saying the play wasn't for Harden but he shot it anyways?
I have no idea. it was Parsons and ppat trying to box out lebron and bosh. pretty bad choice of personnel
But I have to say, utter lack of Lin's involvement in the 4th quarter was really puzzling. Harden was essentially playing PG the whole game. Lin who is afraid to take a shot was just standing around or when he did get the pass was clearly afraid of driving it and seemed happy to give it up. Really puzzeled by his passivity the whole season. He made some beautiful passes but just seems like he's playing not to make mistakes.
We had a good game. Our 3-PT shooting in the second half was ridiculous! Pity Lin missed the big shot. Overall, the rockets way exceeded my expectations tonight. Way to go!
here's the thing, with how young this team is, it's going to be inconsistent. So they'll have games like this where everything seems great, but then they will lay an egg and lose to the Hornets next game and look like the worst team in basketball.
Heat didn't miss anything on purpose. I agree that was the one thing in this game Sampson screwed up with. Since Sampson has assumed Head coaching duties the offense has been a lot more fluid; even his play call out of a timeout have garnered baskets or open shots.
Yeah, he admitted that he probably would have had Asik in the game if he had to do it over again. But more than anything I believe that was a fortunate long bounce that went right to Bosh. That said, you think that makes for a badly coached game? I think, aside from that lapse, Sampson coached a superb game against a vastly more talented team.
The things that really cost us the game is the offensive plays at the end as well as some of the really questionable calls by the refs. They basically handed the Heat 2 points today at a very crucial moment ( Bosh missing an open dunk where no one touched him) and also that terrible lose ball foul on Marcus Morris when him and Lebron both battled for the ball and Lebron just fell by himself... I think those two questionable calls on Houston were huge for the heat as well as some of the no calls for Harden at the end when he was driving in. I believe that when James drives to the basket at the end, I think he lost a little confidence in driving to the basket because he feels that he will get hammer and the refs would not call anything. Plus, the offense that was run at the last few minutes of the game was really bad. It was nothing but ISO and P&R again. The Heat just swarm Harden on every P&R tonight and ISO. But still, I wish the Rockets had came up with some other offensive plays for Harden and the Rockets at the last few minutes because it was basically Harden trying to go 1 on 1 to either score or find an open teammate. That will work sometimes but not against the defending Champs like the Heat. I really hope the coaches will come up with more different types of plays for the Rockets.
I dont agree with this offensive strategy. And puting cold players into a game at last 5 minutes. Completely off rythm. The lost fault was the bad coach decisions.
It defies logic that Asik wasn't in to rebound during Wade's FTs at the end of the game. Just lazy, absent-minded coaching.
you hit shots miss shots, lin's never been a good spot up shooter. but the thing about him, he can't drive, penetrate anymore. i don;t know why, but geez.. I am a big fan of him, to be honest it's really disappointing.
