Chemistry is the issue, not the players.

Remember the Heat in their first year? Or rather in their first few games? They sucked. It was Wade iso-ball and then LeBron iso-ball and then Bosh iso-ball in the post.

Have you guys ever considered how much these guys have played next to and with each other? Chemistry takes longer to build than just a few practices. We're a young team, and our coach is a moron. Its going to take a long time.

We should be glad this was even a game. Most young teams in our position would have mailed it in after that embarrassing 5-20 start.

Lin has (extremely limited, yet a decent chunk of) track history.
    Harden has track history.
    Parsons, Patterson, etc.
Asik granted was a huge gamble and a big surprise.

Individual talent is not what is killing us. They just don't know how to play as a team yet.

Also. At this point we should be going for lottery balls not the playoffs anyway. This team even fully matured isn't good enough for a championship. We need one more.

If we had Lebron James as a player, I think we could have won with the same chemistry.

Harden blowing off his teammates and coaching staff leads me to believe that this chemistry won't come for the longest time...

I dont think we should go for lottery balls at all. That the last thing we should do. Morey has publicly stated that we are a young team that might snag a playoff spot.He wants us to be there so we can attract a superstar that weve been trying at for the last couple of years. Big time players dont sign with terrible teams. Going for the draft is also a complete gamble that might result in a bust.

If you have below-average talent, it doesn't matter all that much if we have chemistry or not

Seems like similar as they tried to do with Ariza, the Rockets are trying to elevate Harden's abilities to a level they aren't at (yet) via over feeding him the ball and telling him to do whatever.

I would hope that Sampson would be better and in a way he is given he is giving more of the bench besides Delfino more then ten minutes of play but offensively they still often seem to lack plans on what to do with the ball besides have Harden take shots.

A reminder to some of the "fans"

Let me just remind some of the "fans" here that it took Lebron, as talented as he is, more than 7 years to accomplish one championship in NBA. I personally made alot funs about his un-clutchness during his early years, but I think he is becoming matured now and may one day head-to-head among history's greatest basketball players.

And with that said, some of the "fans" displayed a thing that is uglier than Jeremy Lin's airball, and I call that "conditional support". We all want our team to win, but there is a difference between:
    1. disappointed with the result of game
    2. come on Clutchfans and write one line thread such as “xxx sucks"

Some of you forgot this is a newly constructed team, fresh-out-of-draft + just-got-traded/signed, and this is only 7th game into the season. Some of the wagon jumper after the first 2 games, may be this is the time for you to GTFO.

can we stop comparing every player to superstars?

It's not a comparison thread. It's a reality thread that players do get better as long as they work on their game.

but not every player that works on their game is going to be a superstar.

i don't see what lebron winning a ring has to do with the rockets. he was good pretty much since he came into the league.

And talking about the support to your team as a fan. I am personally don't support a team just because of in the same city as that team.

I support a team because I approve something about that team, sometimes its playstyle, sometimes its something else.

I was a huge fan of Sacramento Kings during the Webber/White Chocolate/Bibby era, it really doesn't matter whether they won a championship or not, it was joy itself by watching them play.

As for the Rockets, the Yao/Tmac era was tough, but the Rockets are always seem to have most team-spirited group of players. The Rockets never lack players that are willing to do dirty work, Yao is prob one of the most lovable guy in recent history of NBA, Shane Battier is iconic for his niceness, Tmac is a nice dude too (tho if he has Yao's work ethic...sigh). Even Mr. Peace (AKA Ron Artest) looks so much more like his name when he was in Houston.

And right now we have a talented young team, but the tradition stayed. Harden & Lin are both faithful, team-spirited, nice guys, so is Parson, Asik, ect. Maybe I am old fashion, so I will always be thrilled about every little success this Rockets team get.

    Who the heck is comparing?

I merely said even for a un-human piece of bio-sports-mass like Lebron it will take time to be successful.

see, this is the thing. we're not sure that this team is "talented" until they prove it.

until lin and harden live up to their hype and the other players step up consistently, it's no way to tell if this team is really talented or just kool-aid drinking propaganda.

we've seen false promises before from the rockets that didn't pan out.

Everybody keeps talking about LeBron and Kobe for some reason. Both were good the day they stepped in the league and just worked on their game and got better. What does that have to do with the Rockets? People are mad because they won't build a team. They just keep giving us stop gaps.
